The previews videos of Galaxy all looked pretty weird, like you're travelling between small stars or something...but hopefully it's as good as a mario game should be.
Oh and separate that comma from the link, it's breaking it.

The keynote speech today was awsome. The video of Mario Galaxy was very cool I am looking forward to it.
-
GameVideos.com <-- there.
Also, Zelda DS has a new vid there also. =)
Both are exciting.

Super Paper Mario's video looks the best out of all of them. Holy shit that game looks fun, less than a month away! April 6
(official word from Nintendo)
If you guys haven't seen it, when you press A you switch from a 2d to a 3d world as Mario to get around boundaries and climb things it appeared otherwise you couldn't, it looks amazing.
-
I've been waiting for Super Paper Mario forever (it's the closest thing to a new RPG on the Wii until Fire Emblem this Spring/Summer). Mario has the 2d/3d switch ability, but you can also control Peach and Bowser (maybe others too). Peach has her classic floating ability and Bowser has his fire breath. I can't wait...
Super Mario Galaxy looks really fun, but I feel kinda stupid looking at it...I was like "How am I gonna learn how to do that?
" Mario is all over the place, I don't even know what's going on.
Zelda looks amusing. I always thought the Wind Waker-style graphics would be a lot more accepted on the DS, and the gameplay looks like it's up to par.
Motostorm is pretty cool, it's a nice PS3 game. Shame on no multiplayer, but if you aren't worried about that and like racing games you should like it (I got to play it at a friend's).
Edit: I just saw the new trailer for Fable 2 with the dog, it looks pretty good actually (I'm kind of a sucker for dogs, but it was still really good). I'm hoping it's got a bit more length to it in the main story department though.

Kenai, do you know if in this Fire Emblem game, if Marth and/or Roy will be in it? It seems like FE got popular over here in the states because of those 2 and then the GBA game did not even have them?
-
I don't *think* so, since I believe that Marth and Roy's stories are based off of the early Fire Emblem games that never made it over here (on the JP VC right now). This one is actually a sequel to the Gamecube one, it uses the same countries (I think it involves the country that was the antagonist in the previous game, started with a D, Daeunn or something, being oppressed by another country (not Crimea, starts with a B), and the main characters at the start are some kind of rebel faction), and also uses similar character designs. I saw the different Laguz classes (there was a cool red lion guy with a mane, looked like a boss), spear throwers, sword users, and spellcasters. I imagine there could be a few characters from the previous game reappearing, or maybe their desendants (not sure how long after the last game in FE history it is), but unless they do something weird like they did in FFT with Cloud, I doubt it. The FE we got at first was on the GBA, but it's kind of like FF in that there's so many versions out, and I never played the first one, was Marth or Roy even in it? The one I played for the GBA didn't have them, but that was the Sacred Stones one, was the 2nd to come out here.
The funny thing about that is that they actually made the FE game over here because of Marth and Roy being in SSBM, and most people outside of Japan had no idea who they were, or even what Fire Emblem was (for some reason they though the FE franchise wouldn't do well outside of Japan, so it wasn't released before then elsewhere, this will be the 10th game in the series). But they were popular enough to be characters on that game (not just one more of the bajillion trophies), and US/EU/wherever gamers liked them also, so in 2001 they re-released some older FE game as a test of sorts on the GBA internationally, and it took off. I didn't get into it at first myself, but the Sacred Stones got decent ratings, so I tried it out, and I like it. Reminded me of the old Shining Force games (which I loved), only you can't revive dead guys.
-
Yea the only NA one I was familiar with was the one on GBA that I think was just called "Fire Emblem" and not much else.
There were 2 games with Marth in it, one being for Famicom, and the other for Super Famicom I believe?

I wonder if some rom has either of those with a translated script. I would really like to play them.
-
WI agree with Kenai on the Motorstorm part, it's amazing... not having offline multiplayer isn't as bad as people think it is, because it would be very hard to play it (especially if you're using the SIXAXIS option...)

I was in Target the other day on the Xbox aisle, holding a Nyko intercooler and wondering if I might need one, when a rep from Microsoft (she was there to fix Target's display 360) asked me if I was thinking of buying the intercooler. She cautioned me not to, saying that a) it voids your warranty, and b) it fries your 360 because it actually hinders heat from leaving the back of the machine.
I mentioned that I'd had Oblivion freeze up on me a couple of times after multi-hour sessions, and I was wondering if it was from overheating, and she said that if your 360 is overheating, the upper left and lower left ring quadrants will be red.
-
Don't EVER buy that piece of junk.
I don't see how it would void your warranty though, but whatever.
Anyways, Oblivion freezes because it was made badly... you need to clear the cache every once in a while, and it would go back to being normal and lag-free during loading times between zones.
What you do is, keep the CD in the 360, and turn the 360 off. Then, turn it back on, and hold the A (it's either A or X I can't remember, just hold both..) until you see the game start booting up (the first picture you see of one of the commercials you can skip through is when you let go of the button/s.) That should clear your cache, and the game should be running smoothly after that... just make sure you do that once in a while.
-
I don't think i ever played Oblivion long enough to really tax the console... but i did have the occasional OMG 5 MINUTE INITIAL LOAD times. I did the same thing Exo suggests, cleared the Cache. Honestly... i didn't ever see a significant improvement. It would just load somewhat faster but by no means fast.
I am sure it technically voids the warranty some fine printy kind of way, but you would have to actual be fool enough to tell them you used it if they asked. Sounds more like a shrug off warranty wise than a "case opening, mod adding" type of Warranty breaker.
-
Yeah, it's not like you had to take some sticker off (lolPS2) to plug the intercooler in, so whatever.

Wii Prototype Controllers:

Holy shit lol
-
Well..if one of those designs came out I probably would of turned into a ps3 fanboy, but thank god they changed it lol
-
Ah yes, i remember seeing those pics during E3 actually. Only the pictures I saw also included a few more LIKELY grips that are reportedly coming out. One was the Wheel, which is out. The others were a 1st person shooter, pistol type grip. I know the pictures are out there somewhere...
Ah here we are:
<<link removed due to new policy/copyright issues>>

That thing looks awesome dude.
-
Oh yes, the zapper...gimme! :D
And lol @ those prototypes, especially the first one.
-
Agreed, and one thing i noticed after seeing it again today... was that it is basically housing the Remote and the Nunchuk... very cool.
It makes me wonder if they will ever (or a 3rd party dev) release a Form that essentially houses them in a more unified scheme, more of a single controller form. Don't get me wrong, playing Zelda with the setup as it stands is a lot of fun, but you know... its possible, and might appeal to a lot of gamers.
-
Yeah it houses both in a fashion so you can keep using both the analog stick and the buttons of the wiimote, while still being able to shoot while going at it.
I wonder which game will be the one to use it first.
