little big planet is cute, funny, innovative, and watching that demo was amazing. it almost makes me want to buy a ps3. actually i think i might once i get a job and some money. how it actually plays remains to be seen but it was so fun to watch.

yeah lol, it was intriguing watching the video, but I just don't understand the point of the game. :\ It looks, at first glance, to be the type of game that would amuse people who are easily amused, but I didn't see any "real" point behind the game. I am anxious to hear more about the game.

There is no real point to the game, its just a gimmic game like Wii Sports. Its just a fun game to goof around on.

If you really need comparisons, the game is like Line Rider meets Garry's Mod meets Super Mario Bros. meets an orgasm.

The games are still made for each region; my guess theyre there for differential purposes.

New DJ Max Portable II coming March 30th. The reason I bought a PSP was because of this game (now there are other games coming out, and the emulator, but this was the game that I wanted that was only on PSP).

Honestly, however, I can see Sony releasing a PSP2 at some point, but i am thinking it much more akin to the newer PS1... the Slim PS2. Not a NEW console, just a different newer "better" one.

I don't really see a problem w/ the current PSP design, aside from the faulty Square button (unless they fixed it since then.)

Sure, only having one analog stick kinda sucks, and a touch screen would've been nice considering it has way more multimedia features than the DS (navigating w/ the DS is so simply), but the actual design is pretty sexy to me. When Nintendo redesigned the DS to the DS Lite, they kinda took it from being the fat ugly kid to its sleek/cute sister, and the sales just shot through the roof.

Not really sure what kind of strict redesign the PSP would benefit from, maybe making it a bit smaller, but idk what else. The only PSP game that really interests me at this point is the FFT remake, but unless its radically changed I won't lose much sleep over it.

The PS3 is slowly looking more appealing, I read up about the "Home" online hub that Sony is doing, looks pretty nice. Still don't see a reason to get the system before FF13/MGS4 though. I know there are some nice games, but not enough exclusive games when I already have a 360 and access to most of them anyway. I still don't own a Wii either, desperately wanted one when it came out and for a few months after, but I couldn't find one anywhere and eventually spent the money I had saved up for it on other things.

Personally, I don't think the PS3 will really hit its stride for another 2 years, at which point it'll probably pretty easily catch up its marketshare between the 3 consoles. I just kinda see Nintendo having made the right choice with the Wii for now, because its fun, bringing in a lot of non-gamers, every console sale is a profit for Nintendo, etc. They're revitalizing their perception in the market by the consumers right now, and making a ton of money in the process.

By the time the PS3 finally has its AAA games, which like I said, I think will still be another 2 years before you see more than a handful, I don't see any reason why Nintendo wouldn't just be announcing the Wii 2 or something along those lines, in which the controller gets a slight upgrade, but more importantly the horsepower of the system gets a significant overhaul, and its still cost efficent because the same technology in the PS3 (and similar stuff) will have come down in price within 2-3 years, while the graphics probably won't be able to get much better in the near future anyway.

I do not see a "Wii 2" ever coming out, since they would not want early adopters feeling cheated. It's a little different when you're talking about redesigning handhelds and redesigning home consoles. Maybe an updated controller sure, but a whole console? I think not.

As far as the PS3 if this Little Big Planet and Home are both available in April then I would consider buying one on craigslist for 500-550. One thing that pissed me off about the PS3 was how my Wii and 360 could both connect to my wireless network in my apartment, but then the PS3 could not, I don't get what's up with that.

As far as the PSP goes, there was an article on 1up yesterday, I'll post it here that said unless Sony does something like a redesign or a price drop that all retailers are going to take it off of their shelves because it just isn't selling and that shelf space comes at a premium. So that is the reason for it... here's the article:

I'm not talking about a redesigned Wii, I'm talkling about an entirely new console. Not an "upgraded one", a new one.

What I was implying was that the actual power of the Wii isn't strong enough to survive more than a few years, while the 360 and esp. the PS3 have very long lifespans because of the system specs. I ment that I'd probably just "announce" a new console within 3 years if I was Nintendo, basically one w/ specs to rival the PS3, but at that point much more cost efficient, since prices would've come down on the technology. In essence, by the time the PS3 gets really attractive, Nintendo could just be like, "hey, everyone, you know how we we 50% of the marketshare now and how awesome the Wii has been? Well for $250 you can buy the new Wii 2, backwards compatible, able to carry over all of your Virtual games, specs to rival the PS3, etc."

Nintendo is also notorious for releasing remodeled systems with small improvements, esp. if you look at the Gameboy line.

Yeah, but I don't think a redesign is going to sell the system. A price drop would probably help more, but the actual design is fairly sexy to me. I just don't think it'd have anywhere close to the impact that the DS to DS Lite had.
