Because its a game about nothing, therefore it will be an endless time sink. Even though there are no "goals" in the game, it honestly doesn't look like a boring time sink.

No I mean, I don't understand why it's being so overhyped because I have no idea what it IS...don't you just make a planet or something and then you can let other people view it or whatever... what's so fun about that.

As far as your opinion about a whole new system Xav, I think that is a far fetched opinion. If they own 50% of market share I do not see why they would redesign anything. That would show the Wii is doing fine as is. Graphics and processor power do not make something next-gen. A controller like the Wii has is just as Next-Gen as the graphics on PS3 and 360. Again if they controlled 50% of the market I would see no reason for a new system.
As far as LBP, it appeals to a certain consumer. I think things like that are cool. Rather than keep releasing bigger and better versions of franchises, i.e - MGS4, DMC4, FF36, etc. I think it is good that someone comes out with something new and different, how often does it happen. And I am in to that whole "cute" aspect as much as I am the hardcore aspect or w/e, and obviously a lot of others are as well.

Have you ever played Sim-City and enjoyed it? If so can you imagine being able to show off your city to everyone else, I always wished I could do that without them being at my house. if you actually get a whole planet, and in the video they created that stage themselves and then started dicking around putting stuff on the stage, then this game is a whole 5 tiers more awesome than I previously thought. If the video was not deceiving though, then the game will just be something to dick around with to kill time. Because really how much can you do on such a little stage?

Sony is suppose to be optimistic about there console, what would like them to do? Say "Our console is expensive and don't buy it?" give me a god damn break. Wii is the cheapest console of course people our going to buy it, being a Wii owner I can tell you thats the reason I got one. Because it was cheap and it had Zelda. All I meant was you said it's funny that people feel the PS3 should outsell the Wii. But before E3 of last year everyone thought, shit, KNEW, that the PS3 would outsell it. And now it's funny to think it should. That says a lot in my opinion.

That's the point. Everyone knows (should?) a $600 console is fucked. Price is a huge determining factor in console wars. Sony didn't think so and now it's starting to show. They're following in the footsteps of NeoGeo/3DO/CD-I. Originally Posted by CaptainN

Saying it's following in the steps of the Neo-Geo family is a little much at this point. It has not yet hit it's stride, but I think "Home" and LBP will help it, along with it's AAA releases still to come. I would like to see it go down that path tbh just to get what's coming to them for their bullshit comments, but it is still to early to say that.
