Little Big Planet owns my soul.
Now I have 3/5 of a reason to get a PS3.
I still don't understand why people are so hyped about LBP...
Because its a game about nothing, therefore it will be an endless time sink. Even though there are no "goals" in the game, it honestly doesn't look like a boring time sink.
New Blue Dragon article on IGN from yesterday about the translation process, dunno if anyone noticed it so here it goes:

Looking better.
I'm saving this reply for when you jump on board the LBP ship.Originally Posted by Exoduso

That is very true.Originally Posted by Norelco

That would show the Wii is doing fine as is. Graphics and processor power do not make something next-gen. A controller like the Wii has is just as Next-Gen as the graphics on PS3 and 360. Again if they controlled 50% of the market I would see no reason for a new system.
As far as LBP, it appeals to a certain consumer. I think things like that are cool. Rather than keep releasing bigger and better versions of franchises, i.e - MGS4, DMC4, FF36, etc. I think it is good that someone comes out with something new and different, how often does it happen. And I am in to that whole "cute" aspect as much as I am the hardcore aspect or w/e, and obviously a lot of others are as well.
Have you ever played Sim-City and enjoyed it? If so can you imagine being able to show off your city to everyone else, I always wished I could do that without them being at my house. If you do not enjoy Sim-City, you still realize it is a popular franchise and why people enjoy simulations like this.Originally Posted by Exoduso
Then you get to add all the little different people on your planet. And most importantly it is different... do a little thinking outside the box.
the only video clip of actual game play i have seen so far, was posted in this thread by me. and from the video, it looked at though you were given a stage to create on, a literal stage, not figurative.Originally Posted by Po
if you actually get a whole planet, and in the video they created that stage themselves and then started dicking around putting stuff on the stage, then this game is a whole 5 tiers more awesome than I previously thought. If the video was not deceiving though, then the game will just be something to dick around with to kill time. Because really how much can you do on such a little stage?

ninja edit - rofl @ Xbox selling 480 consoles.
Its so funny that people think a $600 console is suppose to outsell a $250 console.Originally Posted by Semitry

Sony is suppose to be optimistic about there console, what would like them to do? Say "Our console is expensive and don't buy it?" give me a god damn break. Wii is the cheapest console of course people our going to buy it, being a Wii owner I can tell you thats the reason I got one. Because it was cheap and it had Zelda. I can also tell you my Wii hasn't seen the light of day since I beat Zelda.Originally Posted by Po
All I meant was you said it's funny that people feel the PS3 should outsell the Wii. But before E3 of last year everyone thought, shit, KNEW, that the PS3 would outsell it. And now it's funny to think it should. That says a lot in my opinion.
That's the point. Everyone knows (should?) a $600 console is fucked. Price is a huge determining factor in console wars. Sony didn't think so and now it's starting to show. They're following in the footsteps of NeoGeo/3DO/CD-I.Originally Posted by CaptainN
The results of all this will be game developers reallocating resources. Hopefully it'll force Sony drop the price a lot sooner then expected.
Saying it's following in the steps of the Neo-Geo family is a little much at this point. It has not yet hit it's stride, but I think "Home" and LBP will help it, along with it's AAA releases still to come. I would like to see it go down that path tbh just to get what's coming to them for their bullshit comments, but it is still to early to say that.
