Review scores are obviously a reflection of the reviewer, but no difference of opinion is going to bridge the gap if the score is something like a 4.

Their personal tastes are a big part of the final score, but they're also reviewing the technical aspects of the game, graphics, controls, etc, and as far as that goes, there isn't much to argue over. They know what a good game plays like, what a good game looks like. The only thing that can save a game is the fun factor, and that varies person to person.

I find it easiest with a friend. Also, you have to get used to good tricks like teleport goals or jumping the goalie shots. The cups aren't that challenging until you get to the Crystal cup and that's pretty tough. My favorite team involves Boo, Dry Bones, Daisy, and someone fast like Toad or something. Jumping the goalie is literally jumping over the goalie. I believe Peach, Diddy and Toad can do this. Use their deke (down arrow with ball) just before you get to the goalie and you'll jump him and be able to walk into the goal. Also, I believe Hammer Bro. should be on all teams. His charged up attack is devastating. Boo's deke is good too where you can teleport through the keeper and smash the B button hoping the ball goes in.

Anyone here that works retail and is familiar with Microsofts Expert Zone?

They have a nice deal on a 360 bundle (premium system, additional wireless controller, Gears of War and Viva Pinata for 389$ plus tax, no shipping), but they're temporarily sold out and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. How often they restock, what warranties they would come with, etc.

Any information would be appreciated.

I got Gears off ExpertZone for $10 (free, but $10 for shipping). I can't imagine it would come with any different warranties than you would find in a store. As for restocking, it's direct from Microsoft... they MAKE the damn things. Just order it and it will come.

One was available for order today so I jumped on it. $412.34 for all of that after taxes. Now I just have to wait

*Edit: OMG LOL. The language they are using is hilarious. Bringing up a law which reminds everyone that nothing they say is to be taken as actual fact, but rather as hopeful thinking.

They opened it up to a Q&A session, and one of the questions asked was what exactly was causing the delay, if it was technical issues or what. The guy asking the question asked, "Has development on the PS3 been more difficult than expected, because Sony has been fairly quiet about GTA4 on the PS3, compared to Microsoft boasting about it on the 360." The direct question was dodged, and all he would say was, "I don't think its going to help anyone to go into details of that nature, but all I can say is that yes, it is difficulty with technology."

Everyone keeps asking about how this will affect the deal with Microsoft, and they keep refusing to answer it at all. One guy even asked, "Will you have to send money back to Microsoft now?" And the Take-Two guy responded, "Again, we take confidentiality contracts very serious, but no we aren't going to send money back." Its funny, because everyone asking questions are from investment/financial firms, no questions about the games but just the money, lol.

I don't mind so much. This was not near the top of all the games I wanted to play this fall. So now I will be able to play all of them in the fall, w/o having to worry about GTA IV being out there.

I'll probably enjoy it more in Summer 08 when it will be one of few good games available.

If the only reason GTA4 is being delayed is because they need a multiplatform release (or at least, that's what their contract with both companies states), then it's fucked up that PS3 keeps knocking games back... Sony needs to help developers get over the technical issues in their console, because it's just getting fucking annoying.

I think I read that Madden 2008 on the PS3 is still only running at 30fps too?

And the response from Sony was just, "our internal teams have been able to do 60 fps, so I'm trying to be polite here, but if we can do it, so can they." Sony needs to help developers or the developers are just going to walk. This isn't the PS2 where if you want your game to sell you have to put up w/ bullshit.

It's really frustrating for me... it's bad enough that it's pretty much only being used for NGS/ps2 playback, but they keep pushing the ps3 exclusive titles too (forget gta4, i'm planning on getting the 360 version regardless) and it just means that it's going to sit here doing nothing for even longer.
