That, and after the horrible HS demo, as early as it might be, they can't really expect people to buy it..

Yeah, lets not go there >_>
So, anyone looking forward to the new Need for Speed?

I can't stand car racing games..
And god, I wish Square would stop making random remakes and sequels/prequels of FF7 (even though crisis core for the psp looks decent..) and just work on FF13/Versus... tired of the Vincent May Crys of the world tbh, I just want new stuff heh.

apparently you can't turn off the motion controls for flight.
They better allow you to toggle it on or off or it's going to seriously detract from the gameplay.
Xavier said they may be trying to "unsuckify it" in the delay as opposed to fixing online leaderboards, I tend to agree with you if this is the case.
Well, the official reason was networking issues with online leaderboards and medals, but it seems coincidental to get a delay right after people start seeing below average scores.
Got mah headset. =D
And I'm not too bummed about the GTA4 pushback. Gives me more time to perfect/enjoy Halo 3 and just as it starts to get tiring, GTA4 is out. Brilliance.
HEADSET, OMG.
What are you doing right now?
Just finished contemplating on whether I should 360 tonight, and I think I shall. However, it says the headset needs to charge out of the box. =( Not sure how long it needs to.
Pretty epic SSBB update tonight, and Happy B-day Sakurai.

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/gamem..._070803h-l.jpgMore than anything, Smash Bros. is a competitive action game. People have been kind enough to praise multiplayer, but we’ve never been able to create a fully fleshed out single-player game.
This time, though, we’ve managed to create a complete side-scrolling action game. It’s storyline isn’t overwrought—it’s hastened along by a bunch of quick movies.

Teaser trailer is here if the site is still bogged down:The Adventure mode also emphasizes character development. You’ll see many famous characters persevering under the weight of their personal histories, shouldering their unique burdens... It’s really something you won’t see anywhere else.
With so many wonderful characters appearing together, it’s like a dream action game. We’re putting tons of fighting spirit into making this game, so I hope you’re all looking forward to it.
Oh, and this is all included in the same Game Disc, so rest easy.

So effing epic...I can't wait for the next megaton (and the game of course!) December can't come soon enough...
first off, hardly any consumer can tell the difference between 720 and 1080. 720p normally delivers a sharper, clearer image because of how the pixels are laid out. Upscaling is nowhere near the same effect as a true HD image so that doesn't really mean anything that it can upscale, which I haven't read anywhere that it does do that. The only thing i remember as far as PS3 and upscaling is that patch that fixed the initial problems with it. Tried looking around for any news story that said something about it upscaling all games but couldn't find anything, source?Originally Posted by Mysterio

what does being able to tell the diff between 720p and 1080p have to do with this? both are considered high definition, which are far and above whatever the PS2 offered(480p). And thats the point I made, is that both the emotion engine, and emulation PS3's improve the look of old PS2 games.first off, hardly any consumer can tell the difference between 720 and 1080
There are lots of video comparisons with the new upscaling and smoothing effects on gametrailers and several pic comparisons on ign if I remember.
I'm not going to bother looking them up, because there is no need to. Infact, several pages on this thread(way back) had pics of comparisons showing the graphical improvements the PS3 grants to PS2 games.
I don't even own a PS3, but I know that within the past month or two they released a patch which did allow upscaling of older games, and I too remember places like IGN doing a comparison with it on and off, and the graphics looking somewhat sharper with it on.
I'd also agree that the difference between 720 and 1080 is negligible,

HELL YES at the Super Smash update. An actual side-scrolling story mode? Sounds pimp.
Source for what, saying that upscaling is not the same as a true HD image? It's not, if you think it is you are fucking retarded. If you meant source for saying that 720p looks better than 1080i then that's self explanatory. Interlaced = lines moving across a screen, progressive scan = pixels laid out side by side. Just look it up on wiki or something. Also CRT TVs are the only kind of TV that can correctly display interlaced picture correctly, if you have any other TV (LCD, Plasma, Projector, etc.) then it has some form of deinterlacer. This is really all common knowledge in the world of picture quality >.>Originally Posted by Mysterio

Progressive scan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Progressive_scan
as for seeing which is better, 720p or 1080i there are too many sources to post and there's not really something that says that definitive. Just go to AVforums.com and ask there or search for a topic, most junkies who look at that crap all day will 9/10 times agree that as far as picture quality goes, 720p is better than 1080i.
Quick link for you, since you missed the PS3 update.
