Are Demos on marketplace always free?
Yessir. I think some HD trailers and game downloads are purchasable upon release, but become free after some time.
Only items that ever cost anything is in-game content. Any trailers, demos, etc are free.
This is awesome that a Bioshock demo is free. Some journalists are already calling this game of the year.
This demo is really good...
The fight for game of the year will be pretty epic, and this is definitely a top contender. This is '08's GoW, but it's much better. It's been a while since I've actually considered buying a game like this, but how often are the background stories in shooter games this good? It's like...they don't give you the real story of what went on, but even in the demo you can read old signs and billboards, tapes and posters...it's really impressive, like putting together pages of a novel.
Oh, and I don't know why they thought it would be a "moral dillema" to go after those Children of the Corn kids, I'd have no problem blasting those creepy bastards if they didn't have their scary friends with them.![]()
Flamethrowers were just anounced for Halo 3.. seems pretty cool.

Many minutes will be spent playing this game.
If only there was such a thing as "too much time playing Halo"...Originally Posted by Deejay

Oh man, oh man, oh man...Poke geek in me going super saiyan or something...the whole concept is amazing, these are the classic starters, and just thinking about the possibilities for future characters gets me even more excited.

SSBB Update: Pokemon Trainer
http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/chara...on_trainer.jpg
No way! The Pokémon Trainer has finally arrived. And it looks like he doesn’t do his fighting directly.
Instead, he uses the three Pokémon with him—Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard—to do the fighting for him.

The Pokémon Trainer watches from the background.

Is... Is he issuing commands?!
He needs to use his three Pokémon to fight. So the only ones who fight directly are the Pokémon.
I guess you could say using this character is like playing three for the price of one!
And the Pokémon Trainer uses a special move called Pokémon Change to switch between them.

They swap out in a set order: Squirtle?Ivysaur?Charizard.
They all share the same damage meter, so they don’t recover from damage during Pokémon Change. But they also have another stat, which you might call stamina.
If you keep fighting with the same Pokémon, or if you change them out too often, it’s not so good for the Pokémon.
If you want to be a good Pokémon Trainer, you’ll need to learn these kinds of ins and outs.
SSBB, never stop amazing me. <3
Interesting development. I can't wait to see what other characters they're gonna add.
Holy shit at the Bioshock Demo! If you own a 360, download that shit now!
I agree Kenai, this is the 08 GeoW, and will be just as big if 2k/MS actually put in the marketing this game needs.
Demo was great, feels a bit like Half-Life.Originally Posted by Semitry

I noticed the file was bigger than the Stranglehold demo, is it just as long?
And yea, SSBB just keeps getting better and better, Nintendo is really going above and beyond with this one.
Never tried the Stranglehold demo, but it's about an hour long if you take your time and enjoy the atmosphere, which you should cuz it's fucking amazing.Originally Posted by Po
Sonic on SSBB ftw.
lol @ pokemon trainer... even though it's a nice addition.
Now where's Sonic damnit!
the pokemon trainer is pretty cool, neat concept at least.
and its kinda interesting that the 3 pokemons are squirtle (1st tier in its evolution) ivysaur (2nd tier in its evolution) and charizard (3rd in its evolution) guess it balances them out? maybe Charizard is more of a slow heavy hitter, while squirtle is faster, and ivysaur is somewhere in between?
I'm thinking it might be somewhat like a three-way Sheik dynamic, with Squirtle being the most mobile, Charizard having the most attack power, and Ivysaur maybe having the best reach (via the vines), or something. The "stamina" is there to not use one Pokemon too much or too little, so hopefully they made each Pokemon worth using, unlike Zelda in Melee, who was just baggage for Shiek users, and if they did, that would hopefully mean enough variety to match a Pokemon up against it's most favorable opponents (like, Ivysaur's range against Ike). What really gets me about this update is that it's about the closest thing to a "pet job", which I love, I'm interested to see how the trainer will get around in the moving stages, and probably best of all, if a Pokemon Trainer can be in this game, they can seriously put ANYTHING in here, as far as I'm concerned, and make it work.Originally Posted by Oxyminus
Like I said, this fight for GotY will be EPIC. I can already tell I'll have a really hard time choosing, and it's freaking August...
Holy shit @ the Bioshock demo. That game was just crazy, and I can easily say it is like nothing I have ever played before. I was listening to an interview with Ken Levine, mastermind behind Bioshock, right before I played it and he said some of those powers will not be available so early in the game, but they just wanted to give you a taste of what the powers are like.
If you are interested in the interview, it is on the Major Nelson podcast - http://www.majornelson.com
The whole enviroment was just so spooky and surreal. Why did these civilians of rapture turn into these Splicers? What did Ryan, or the enviroment for that matter, do to them?
The graphics were beautiful, easily Gears of War level performance there. This is definitely the next must play game in the 360 library, can't wait for the full version next week.
Bring it to 360 please.
Also, reposting my Bioshock Demo impressions since it got bastardized at the bottom of last page and this game needs to be discussed more:
