Besides the point, Nintendo's strat is genius.
And I was never a big Nintendo fan.. last Nintendo console I owned was the N64. But the the whole strategy surrounding the Wii's launch and lifespan up till now is done very very well.
Best business idea they've ever had.Originally Posted by Mysterio

according to my memory it was GraveRobberX who posted the red ring of death thing.
I've posted some info from some sites survey showcasing the failure rate, so I'm no saint either. Mine was just some factual stuff, it really wasn't a "NEWS FLASH 360 DIES" thing. Because everyone knew about this serious problem before Microsoft officially anounced shit.
But I don't think Pyro has lol
I never played the original RE4, so the Wii version was a new experience both in controls and story, and I absolutely loved it. I couldn't agree with you more about the lack of AAA titles right now, but the future looks bright, and as long as companies create RE4-like games (touching up the graphics a little bit since it can handle that), I'll be happy.Originally Posted by Po
Not true. While original prototypes worked with the GCN devkits, they never intended to release it for the GCN.Originally Posted by Mysterio
It would be retarded because peripheral attachment rate is shit--and Nintendo knows this because learned it with the expanded ram fiasco on the N64. (Sony learned this with the harddrive/ethernet attachment. Looks like Microsoft is just figuring this out with the "HDD required" uproar on X360).
Furthermore, they would have been releasing it at the very tail of the generation, not exactly an ideal time to market a peripheral. Add a small (and declining) market for GCN games to a low attach rate and you get...a peripheral nobody wants to develop for.
The original Wii-mote worked with the Gamecube devkits?
That's more or less confirming what I said, but in greater detail. Yeah it worked with the Gamecube, and it would have made no sense to release it for it at the end of its life cycle. I guess I should say it was "compatible" rather than "for" the Gamecube lol
I don't shit on the PS3 parade anymore than you make up bogus claims like "360 can't handle OMGWarhawk". Quit getting your feelings hurt over one post.Originally Posted by Mysterio
edit: And for the record, I don't hate sony lol. Just not going to "join their camp" untill theres a real reason to. Warhawk looks pretty and all, but I thought SOCOM was supposed to be the killer multiplayer game for PS3? No one even talks about that.
I'd say about every 10 pages or so of this thread is like deja-vu and reading the same thing all over again....anyone else get that feeling or is it just me?

I actually never played it before the Wii version either. I was just making the point that even with the lack of AAA titles the Wii still is an unstoppable force so for that reason they could care less about the sales of PS3/360.Originally Posted by Xavier
But yes, of course I'd like to see more AAA as well, though I am sure the big 3 this fall, starting in 2 weeks will keep me occupied for quite some time :D
What defines an AAA game?

I used to think those graphics were so fucking amazing when I got the game, and when I popped it into my ps3 a while ago and tried to play it I couldn't do anything else but lol @ how lame the overall presentation was.
I'd say a big name title that is done very well and plays excellent. Like Mario Party could have been one, but it sucked so bad.Originally Posted by Semitry

Jack Thompson has a hard on for Bioshock.

Then the Wii has plenty of AAA titles, with the last one being RE4 imo.Originally Posted by Po

That's awesome, free advertising. If I didn't have a hard on for the game myself, I'd buy it just because Jack Thompson is against it.Originally Posted by Pyro
