I think both Po and Exoduso's comments scream "fanboy" and from my previous experience with them usually always do.
The reason I believe the PS3 will have the best version of multi-platform games is because it can run games better and run stronger games than the Xbox360. I'd think that would be reason enough, not so empty... and 'tasteless'? Do you even know what that word means?
The platform with the best version of multiplatform games will be the one that developers use natively when making the game.Originally Posted by BRP

I guess I fail to see how I am a fanboy when I have a system from every company, including every nintendo system that has been made. If anything I am a Nintendo fanboy, and if that is the case fine, I love that company.
I support the PS3 more than I do the 360, but whatever rocks your boat.
Regarding the Halo fascination. I have a real hard time getting into the console shooters, especially after playing many of them on the PC using a mouse.
I wouldn't just say its "inferior" to use a gamepad in comparison to a mouse for an FPS, I would go as far as saying its borderline insulting lol.
I am not saying Halo sucks, I think its a great game especially coupled with online play. I just can't bring myself to playing FPS's with gamepads.

You're wrong in your assumption that the PS3 version of Oblivion is proof that PS3 games look better when "coded from the ground up for the PS3". Bethesda has said numerous times now, that the PS3 version is the end result of extra time spent tweaking the game & nothing more. They've also gone so far as to say these improvements made on the game were due solely to the extra time & were not a result of the PS3 or it's capabilities.
To further this Bethesda has said that the Shivering Isles Download Expansion for the PC & 360 contains patches which implement the graphic updates found in the PS3 version.
After the updates, the only major differences you'll have on the PS3 will be the slightly faster load times, which if I remember reading correctly is because the PS3 Disc Drive runs slower than a 360 Drive so they wrote the data twice or something to that effect allowing the PS3 to load things faster. I'll find the link later.
In the end all this means is that they are all going to be nearly the same. Buy the game for what you own, and if you own both a 360 and a PS3, and don't want to play this on your PC, then and only then do you have a choice to make. Personally, I'd take the PC or 360 version simply because for the time being, Bethesda doesn't have a plan on how to give the PS3 version downloads such as the Shivering Isles expansion.
You think the PS3 will have the same Cache clogging problems the 360 has in regards to extended loading times?
Bethesda used same technique of writing the data twice on the 360 but what I'm saying is that as you know when ports go from 360 > PS3 they are coded for the 360 architecture. Not the PS3 and thats why they look like complete and utter crap, I'm saying there is a chance that the PS3 can be better if its built from the ground up. Bethesda also stated that that they will allowed downloads for the PS3 but they need to take a look at the PSN network so they can see how to do it, once they get it down it will come.Originally Posted by Bethany
legendary edition just got raised to $130, lol. Fook that. I'm buying regular edition. All my friends are getting that extra crap so if any of its good i'll just watch it at their place.Originally Posted by Who Dat?

If things keep going the way they are now, the next gen of the system wars will be about as exciting as comparing a Sony TV to a Samsung. We're only a few steps away from all games beingg on all systems.
Or Sony could pull a N64 (or a Memory Stick, UMD, Betamax, ATRAC...) and go their own way with proprietary formats and end up failing so hard that they're irrelevant in the end.
Hopefully at that point all 3 would just make one system lol. I dont get why they dont do that from the start... I mean, 1 system, everyone would have to buy it regardless of price. Nintendo has their customer service, sony has sound and graphics, 360 has its online play.
and you got an idea.Originally Posted by kazen

No competition means less need to do better, because a customer would either have to buy that or nothing, which leads to often sub-par product that should be and could be better. It's a classic economics lesson. It's in the consumer's best interest to have multiple companies and platforms out at once. They work harder to bring out better stuff that they never would have otherwise. That's kinda why I don't want the PS3 to fail, but there's a bit more to it than that.

That's actually one of the most practical PS3 add-ons I've ever seen. Make food while waiting for the download to finish.

What would be the downside of this for the consumer? Say a ~500 dollar system that plays ALL games that comes out with the best graphics, online capability and 1st party titles. I don't see a downside. It is kind of silly to talk about since it would never happen, but still it would be a great thing to see happen.Originally Posted by Norelco
