I read in Game Informer a few months ago saying that microsoft is willing to pony up 70% of the production costs for FF to be exclusive on 360. Its kind of a big deal when this is obviously going to be the most expensive FF to date, so we'll see what happens...

I would bet that SE is waiting for Sony to try and match Microsoft's offer sheet, and Sony is probably trying to figure out an easy way out by just allowing Microsoft to pay SE for a port. Rather than the whole thing.

You mean 3-4 years ago? FF13 has been in production for god knows at least 3-5 years by now, and its almost complete. Looking at likely spring of '08.

They were shooting for FF13 originally for Early '07, and I don't think Sony can afford to push FF13 back to Fall of '08. So thats my rough guess of spring of '08.

Playable Demo coming this Fall for it on Sony Store.

Nah it was recently. It's not that hard for them to take everything they have now and reproduce it for 360. Plus, the offer was supposedly rejected by SE. I'm just saying that Sony is probably mulling over whether they want to match microsofts offer to get a port of FF13.

And even if the game will be out soon for PS3, doesnt mean they have to launch the same date.

If Microsoft does get Metal Gear or FF13 in the distant future, they will have missed the boat, just like they did with FF11 on 360. Doubt it would be worth the coin it would cost them.

Whereas a simultaneous multi-platform launch would be very viable.
