You need skilled people to make a good game, lot of time and a fuck ton of money. Not every studio can afford such thing and want to take the risk when they don't know how large the fanbase will be. Now that the wii is in first position, more company will be willing to take the risk to develops on the Wii.
Why spend the money do develop a high quality game when cheap one sell? Same could be said for ps2, or any other console. A good game will always sell better, create a fanbase and will pay more in the end.
Agreed. The most popular system is ALWAYS going to get shovelware. I find it amazing how quickly people forget the undeniable heaps that were on PS2. The Wii's 3rd party does usually suck right now, but it's only been 11 months, and it does take time for good games to be made, especially if they only started work on them sometime this year. It actually does have a few quality 3rd party titles coming, like GH3, Zack and Wiki, Geometry Wars, Trauma Center, and Rayman RR2 (and I wouldn't be surprised if GH3 sold best on the Wii judging by preorder counts, though the 360 has a good shot too), even though they aren't nearly as anticipated as SSBB and Galaxy. I expect the big titles to show themselves as soon as devs can realisitcally make them, I'm sure they want some of that money...
