Actually no, I've seen at least 3 20GB's hanging around my Wal-Mart. I'm talking as of yesterday. Also cheapassgamer.com has a used 20GB search link for GameStop and there were a few listed around my home town that I can have my parents pick up/ship for me. So it wouldn't be a problem. IIRC I will be missing out on HDMI, Wi-Fi, and Mem Card slots. Which I generally don't care much for HDMI since the only HDTV I have is out in the living room. I won't be moving my PS3 at all enough to use Wi-Fi much, and I heard there are other ways than Memory Card slots to add things to the PS3.Originally Posted by Po

Did they say if it's multi or not?

Here's hoping it stays a 2D fighter but with fully rendered 3D characters.
Oh ok, well that is good then.Originally Posted by Larsa

If it's like Soul Caliber 1, it can be 3-d.
I never played any of the monster hunter games, but read up on them and man MH3 should be pretty cool, probably a game I'll pick up.
MH3 on Wii kinda frightens me. I am playing the hell out of MHF2 on PSP and lately i just try to imagine putting the same amount of time into it (think i have about 170 hours played so far) on a Wii... and i can't see how it isn't going to either be insanely carpal tunnel causing, or waaaaay easy-fied.
I really hope that neither of these are the case, the game looks pretty enough in the tiny amount of footage out there, and it would be nice to see it do well... but i have my fears. I can't help but picture Red Steel with Gunlances, Bows, Tachis, and Rathalos... yipes.
Red Steel was an anomaly. It was just far too ambitious for a launch title. We probably wont be seeing many more of those (at least not high budget ones.)
shifting gears for a sec,
BladeStorm: The Hundred Years War
Ever since the download was available on the PSN I've been addicted to this game. I never played any Dynasty Warriors, although I've obviously seen footage of them and heard of them.
But this game is different, it's much more widescale and with more variety and you're commanding battalions instead. Most of the Units play differently, they're not all hack and slash. Like the Catapult unit for instance.
Anyways, my point is I actually really like this game.
This little review from eurogamer is a great write-up, and mirrors my thoughts of it so far.

just for the record talked with sony rep today and asked him about the 40gig and he said it will have the same backwards compatability as the 80gig, just only have 2 usb slots and no memory card reader. and this is still unofficial as sony hasnt made an official announcement.

Err... that = Okami confirmed for the Wii. That is a lot of win if you ask me, but... i just wonder now since Clover is no more, and even the company the main members FROM Clover created is no more (Seed) ... well just curious how the Wiikami will live up to the original.
Any thoughts? (Clover > Seed > now they are PlatinumGames)
Wait wut? Clover is back?
I'm more shocked at me understanding French then the actual announcementOriginally Posted by Graelinn
Well, kinda?
October 2006 - Capcom closed down Clover.
August 2006 - Seed was formed with members of the former Clover (Shinji Mikami, Atsushi Inaba and Hideki Kamiya)
October 2007 - Seed merged with ODD Incorporated to become PlatinumGames
So, in a ssense those 3 members of Clover (and surely some others from the team, but those three being the top 3) have reformed and reformed and are now PlatinumGames. Not much info out there, their site is pretty much a resume, "do you need a job" site at the moment.
Well, it seems that people are complaining out the ass about getting a year old plus port for the PS3, but then some administrator says that it's not even Friday yet. Sounds like they have yet another announcement coming up at the actual end of the week although it seems to be regarding the Wii.

Grae, have you done all you said in that game in all solo play? Or did you play multi? b/c I know MHF2 only offers ad-hoc multi and not true wifi multi. Reason I ask, is when I read reviews of this they said this game is amazing if you play with others, but not so great if you play by yourself. Insofar as some of the bigger monsters are impossible to kill on your own and thereby you can't get the best loot etc.Originally Posted by Graelinn
Can you give your opinions on this matter?
And yes I am definitely anticipating MH3 for Wii.

Mr. Tretton conceded that removing that capability, along with a few other features, isn't dramatically reducing Sony's cost of manufacturing the console but will instead encourage buyers of the entry-level PlayStation 3 to purchase more games designed specifically for the new system.
And it's official now, 40GB PS3 $400, 80GB PS3 $500 in the US and Canada so Canadians get a huge price drop.
