Won't happen, get over it... Sony is just playing media games with SE because they don't want to pay what SE is asking for... but they will, or the PS3 really will fail.

Also, starting with the May shipment of PS3s, the US will no longer have the PS2 chip and will have the same technology as the EU system.

I just went through my collection and only about 1/4th of it is supported lol~ Most of the RPGs and older games I have wont work. They better make this better like they say.
I knew that would happen...such bullshit. Yea, I was waiting a bit just to be sure, but "my" PS3 is staying on the shelf til KH3, unless they seriously update that list. So moronic...

Edit: I posted this on KI already in their console wars topic, but I find these pictures so great I gotta post em here too. Thanks again Tagrineth, I might have a new desktop.

Wow, can't blame them though, $900+ is a lot of money.

EDIT: $900 is not that much for what people are getting. Holy shit at those who bought a PS3 in London. They got a 46" Bravia + a cab ride home to go along with their PS3.

been reading about this rumor about Nights coming onto Wii. never played the original (didn't have a saturn) but goddam that is going to be INCREDIBLE if it happens. could totally make full use of what the Wii is capable of, from a control/play style standpoint, and the quirky graphics again would suit it so well. deffinetly psyched about this if it turns out to not be a hoax

    lol

The same way FF12 seemed to take absolutely forever to come out, on a system that had already been released for years, on a system that Square already had a ton of experience developing for w/ their programmers.

Yeah, FF13 will be out really soon.

I don't know why people would dismiss the head of Sony EU as having no clue about exclusive titles, as I'm willing to bet Sony Japan doesn't live on another planet, and Sony probably has a pretty good idea of whats going on w/ Square. I'm sure they make it their business to know what the company of one of the last "big" exclusive games is planning.

"Almost complete" was kind of loose, almost for Square can mean within the next 2-3 years I guess, lol.

I was just taking a stab at it by estimating within a years time.

So only about 100 people total there bought one? At the MAIN launch? That is...pretty craptastic.

I'm jealous of those perks though. That's definitely one time I would have considered the PS3 worth the buy. Stick a free 46" T.V in a purchase over here and I'd be all over it. 8) It sounds like they were rewarding the people there to me, for sticking by Sony despite all the stuff that's been going down (and trying to offset the incredibly low turnout with at least some good news to some people).

Seriously, though, what's Sony gonna do? This is looking honestly horrible, I am feeling pity right now.

Don't feel pity, its a multi-billion dollar company.

It'll pick up steam in 6 months.

Apparently about 50 out of the 1000 systems in Paris sold, and during hte big event, Microsoft snuck in some advertising with a boat of theirs.

Don't think the European market was Sony's biggest concern. Would they not have released it within the same week as Japan and NA if it was?

From the looks of it, anyone in the EU areas who wanted a PS3 allready acquired one prior to launch, lol. I imagine the PS3 being region free had alot to do with that, and the fact its apparently not very popular over there .

Europeans don't have the same mindset as americans either when it comes to stuff like this... they don't waste their entire paycheck 5 hours after they get it.

And yes, PS3 being region free probably helped a lot with the poor numbers, people just imported the NA PS3s cus they're essentially the same thing.

That still makes no sense considering the EU PS3 is region coded. So the only games they can play are JP/NA.

You've managed to confuse me Deejay, I don't know what you're trying to say, lol.

What does "JP/NA" games have to do with the "EU PS3" being region coded?

Maybe its just me but I don't think you can find a game for the PS3 thats not in either english or japanese.

Just because Sony is a multi-billion dollar company doesn't mean it doesn't divide up it's spending... and I doubt the effects of all the bad decisions lately are being felt by the people who deserve it but I thought they had a whole bunch of PS3s available exclusively for the Euro launch, and more PS3s were put aside for there than the other launches. No matter how badly they were expecting it to be, I doubt they thought it would be this bad. And now, SE is going to force them to cough up a substantial amount of money, or possibly lose FF13's exclusiveness as a result. I just don't see it suddenly having a major turnaround in 6 months either, they have to wait a much longer time for their "system sellers", tried and true franchise exclusives. Who knows how much further behind they'll be by then. They aren't dead yet, but still being so unshakably optimistic that literally millions will suddenly do a 180, and pay the *extra* money to play some unknown and unproven titles that havn't been actually played yet, in the midst of all the stigma and other platorm titles coming out? I just can't see it.

While all of Europe doesn't speak German, they certainely don't all speak English either.

A respectable amount of games get translated into french, german, spanish, etc, which is one of the reasons they take so much longer to reach their shores, on top of just being a smaller market in general.

I agree with your language statement... but being a smaller market is something of the past.

Europe has purchased more Nintendo DS's than america so far and it was released here last.

Also with the year Delay on the PS2 when it was released here only makes US around 3 million units ahead on sales.

    EU is growing...

EU games always release at least 3-6months later than NA due to they need to translate it into german, french etc....

and, the game also cost more than NA ver too
