So we got the new 360's in for christmas, and it really made me think Microsoft wants people to commit suicide. Xbox360 Arcade version, its only a slight improvement over the core that was a flop (it only comes with a 128 MB memory card). No HDD, no wireless, no pretty much anything except for a 128 MB memory card, and you know parents will buy it because its a little cheaper because a "360 is a 360". On the plus side though, the other package deal also came in and those look hot, 360 prem. with 2 games which seems to be a great deal.

In related news, Video Business reported earlier this month that the newly announced 40GB PS3s will be in short supply as Sony purportedly makes more money when selling higher-end models.

And by "makes more" they mean "loses less".

Uh, doesn't it come with 256MB card, HDMI, Wireless controller and 5 full Xbox Live Arcade games (oom Boom Rocket, Feeding Frenzy, Luxor 2, Pac-Man Championship, and Uno)? Ie it's no longer a tard pack and viable to play games right out of the box.

thats correct, we've gotten them in, 256 meg card, wireless controller, 5 arcade games, and has the hdmi port(still only comes with composite cable)

I kinda say the same thing about the new PS3 actually. I still can't believe they didn't add the BC to it, I will go on record to say if they HAD done that for THIS Christmas that probably would have been the biggest and smartest move they could have ever made for the holidays, and it might have even done something to keep their heads up. I don't see how they are trying to make those PS2 users jump ship then cutting off the main reason that they would have, all those PS2 games. Now they'll just buy another PS2 and a Wii or 360. :/ But I at the beginning was like "whatever, I know tons of people would have bought it for BC that they are missing out on, but they had to cut costs somewhere to save money, even if it was a bad idea."

But then I see stuff from Sony PR that the main reason that they took out the BC was not to save money, but to get people to play PS3 games and not the old PS2 ones.

Doesn't matter if BC was in or not. The 40GB version is probably a PR stunt to lure consumers in to purchasing a 80GB PS3 when the 40GB is sold out due to "constrained" productions.

The elite's a piece of crap really, since every system has HDMI now, so you're paying $100 for 100GB and black. The Arcade's fine, when most people don't play online and like a huge percentage of gamers have their system hooked up via composite cables anyways... I'm surprised at the number of people on live are using SDTV.

really the pro is the best right now since it comes with the 2 free games(forza/marvel) whereas the arcade does not. and yea, the elite is becoming more outdated now that all have the hdmi.

It looks like just any other MARIO DOING THINGS game. Except now, they decided to add to the MARIO DOING THINGS formula with MARIO DOING THINGS WITH SONIC. Plus all the extra Characters that should never have been invented.
