1 thing, I forgot to ask was did you give the games a try?, I mean im no Halo/MGS expert, but I know the overall story, gameplay, and have dabbled in it just to see what the fuss was all aboutOriginally Posted by SephirothYuyX
If it isnt your style/genre I understand, but if youre just basing it on just by looking and not playing, then your comments are irrelevant

Again, my opinion.
But games like Cooking Mama and Wii-fit should be an insult to any serious gamer. They are meant to appeal to the casual market.

First of all, please go ahead and find were I said anything about "THE WII DON"T HAVE GAMES"? I never said ANYTHING like that at all so what the holy fuck are you talking about again? I called your list mediocre nothing more, because you ranted about how when the PS3 has 3-5 "Good Games" it would be worthy of a purchase. Which is fine and well justified but you make it sound like the PS3 has no good games now, which why I made the joke post about the PS3 having no games. Again I agreed with you about SMG, the whole second coming of Christ thing was a joke because that post was a bit out there. Nothing more nothing less, i never called you a fanboy or anything so what are you so mad about again?
Now that we got that cleared up lets talk about "Society", I preach nothing. I said its sad the way society is because Mysterio said he would lose friends for playing a CARD GAME but it was ok to play a online MMO. It doesn't make sense does it? That you should lose friends for playing a card game. Thats all I said nothing more and nothing less again so how come everyone else understood my joke but you? You pulled this long 1/2 page rant ABOUT NOTHING. You call me smut but its really you who needs to take a look at yourself getting all upset over my couple of jokes.

I liked the NES one ok, MGS I didnt really like, but I played through it, thought id try MGS2, but I stopped after a few hours cuse I couldnt bear it. I just couldnt put up with it any more. MGS4 looks pretty, and more attractive to me than Halo, but I would never buy a system for it, or buy the game at full price.Originally Posted by SephirothYuyX

I'd like to continue dating attractive women as well, and Eye of Judgment would probably complicate that if it was set up at my Pad.
Because they appeal to the casual market they're an insult? What kind of bullshit logic is that?Originally Posted by Mysterio
But yet you scoff at games like Wii Fit, and Cooking Mama while calling yourself a hardcore gamer at the same time. Those attractive women are into shit like Cooking Mama and Wii Fit. Probably would be into Eye of Judgement too if it's a card game lol.Originally Posted by Mysterio
Its more widespread then you think, I know alot of people that play MOTG or Yui-Gi-Oh but hide it from there friends, because they don't want to seem like a loser. But shit I'm 22 and pretty much have a wife who as accepted my gaming loserness so I don't give a shit anymoreOriginally Posted by Mysterio

You're right, they've licensed only one casual game.
As opposed to basing their entire business model around it, lol
For me? The 360 was my logical next step when FFXI on the PS2 became too much to deal with anymore (though i easily fixed the DRE problems i had in about 20 mins ...) and was quite happy with it with JUST FFXI and Oblivion on it for some time.Originally Posted by Xavier
Actually, for a VERY long time my 360 saw nothing played on it other than FFXI. For me that was a 100% improvement over the PS2, noticeable (quite understandably) from the moment i switched. Since taking an indefinite 'break' from FFXI i have spent time with a few other games and had quite a bit of fun. Bioshock of course, the CoD4 Beta, and many XBox1 games that i never had the opportunity to play.
So for me the 360 was easily worth every dime spent, as were the weeks it took me to track down a store with one in stock (and this was February of last year...) Lately, there have been less games on that i have played (in general actually) but that has a lot to do with the fact that the Red Ring of Death is always scaring the piss outta me. But, meh, i will play it till it drops.
The Wii was actually a gift for the lady, but of course i have played my fair share of Zelda, Sports, and even a few others like Elebits. The worth here is justified solely by the fact that my 4 year old daughter plays it more than i ever have. (We now have a total of 60+ Miis that she has created, all with names like "1313h1j3" and "ytttttytyt")
She can STILL hand our asses to us in Boxing... There are games coming down the line that i will likely have to wrench the Wiimote from her hands for though, just waiting.
The PS3? First of all, perhaps a vital bit of info that it was a gift and not something i bought myself (though could have... just not sure i WOULD have.) And yes, of all three systems right now it is sitting quiet the most. Warhawk was/is fun but the massive amount of issues with it at launch killed my enthusiasm for a bit. I hope the upcoming update/expansion helps turn that around. Other than that? Not much at the moment. Still, it is worth owning it, just can't say it was worth buying since i didn't. I am excited for MGS4, and FFXIII proving that the game looks fun when all the details are out.
So, all of the consoles i have (including my DS and PSP) are worth having to ME, but i am sure that in all of my reasons above any one of you could glean a reason why it wouldn't be for YOU. No regrets here. I am having fun.
Oh, and i don't know that i would call myself a "serious gamer" or rather i don't know that i would care to? I have no HD just yet, and while the desire is there to get one, there is no sense of urgency.

Its not as if those three games are all coming out within the next 4 months. You're right, where have the "core" Nintendo games gone. Its not as if there has been a Zelda and a Metroid on the Wii either. Its not as if the major Nintendo franchises are all being represented.
