Architectures could be much, much simpler if they didn't have to last 6+ years.

Also, at the beginning of a cycle, a small bit of work can create a vast improvement in how a game looks. At the end of a cycle, vast amounts of work are required to make small improvements on how a game looks. Shortening the amount of time spent in the tail of the cycle will mean less work for better games.

Then they need to make consoles cheaper.
Buying a 300-500 console every 4 years with 50 dollars per game is fucking expensive.

Wii is $250, a step in the right direction if you ask me, and they'd probably knock it down to $200 if they had the slightest competition in their price range.

I accept your white flag. 8) And yes, playing EoJ in August for free was fun! Nice game too, hope it doesn't bomb too bad, I'd like to see more. Just try not to bash me when I get excited about an awesome game I just played, and we'll agree to disagree. I'm ashamed you haven't gotten an "n before" right yet though, good tries!

And on that note, back to Zack&Wiki for the night! If you ever get a chance to play it, I suggest you do, Wii owners! After the first 30 minutes of sickeningly cute dialogue and easy tasks they start throwing some brutal puzzles at you, I'll be at these for awhile...these 3rd party good efforts from devs aren't exactly a dime a dozen.

Saw a couple of trailers and review videos for Eye of Judgement, all I have to say is holy crap. The whole hologram type thing is amazing and especially how they react to your hands movement. This type of gameplay has a shit ton of potential, but besides that I have a shit ton of games already to buy the whole kind of yu gi oh card gameplay thing is not for me. If you like card games though this is a instant buy.

Hell I might decide to buy it later if I come up with some cash.

I know that I say I'm never really impressed with games then I'll say a game is good, but this game is really good. It's very intuitive, the learning curve is nil and it's just pure fun right off the bat. It doesn't do anything too "revolutionary", it's basically like 64 with some new gravity features and crap put into it but really. Just from start to finish you just have fun playing it and you get engrossed. That's what I'll say about it.

Overboard translation: So I walk into my local game store today to put some money down for Professor Layton, and I notice an amazing thing in the corner...

A playable Mario Galaxy demo. Excited, I grab the Wiimote and start playing.

Not 10 minutes passed by before I was enthralled. By the time 30 minutes had gone by I was COMPLETELY blown away. Just thinking about it now gives me shivers.

This game is amazing. AMAZING. I cannot stress this enough. This is THE game to get for your Wii, this is THE game to get a Wii for if you have been on the fence. This is Mario at his finest, make no mistake. The Wiimote controls are excellent, the camera is spot-on, graphics are beautiful, and it's just FUN to play.

These next 3 weeks of waiting will be extra-rough on me, but I will endure...

O snap he's right I am smut, all I do is hype every 1st party PS3 game trailers, stay that "Great" games sell because there cute, and talked about how the Wii has no good games. I am a true Nintendo hater and a true Sony fanboy 8)

But in all seriousness lets get this on the record, I and everyone here knows that Eye of Judgment will be a bigger bomb then Lair, when you think of a PS3 savior Eye of judgment isn't what comes to mind nor did I ever make it out to be. Hell ill say this now before November even comes around, Uncharted will probably bomb too UNLESS they put a demo out and start to advertise. Because everyone I've talked to little to no clue about Uncharted but I do think it will get an average of 9/10 out of reviewers.

as my sony rep said, he's worried about eye of judgment because its a niche within a niche, they have to have a ps3 AND be interested in card games. Looks fun but don't know if i'd be willing to drop the money on it, seeing as how the eyetoy games for ps2 failed pretty hard.

also, as for uncharted, yea, there's next to no interest here, a couple of people have been like "yea that looks kinda cool" but no one has shown any interest in preordering and are all just going to wait and see how it works out. i personally have no intentions of getting it that's for sure.

Sony lost 841 million (US) in the gaming division, that's larger then Xbox's losses. Nintendo on the other hand doubled it's profits, and made 1.6 billion (US). Sure wish I bought Nintendo and Google stock a few years ago lol
