Oh okay, just as bad lol.
Oh okay, just as bad lol.
Did anyone get Crackdown here? I downloaded the demo over live, and it seems like it could be mindless fun after getting powered up skillwise, but I had some issues w/ the controls. Any first hand stuff? Sorry if I missed it in the thread.
Hands down Xavier, most fun I have had with the 360. The leveling up system is unbelievably fun. You go from levels 0-4 in agility, guns, driving, explosions and strength, and the difference and joy u get from being fully leveled up is un-believable.
I think it is the most fun sand box game I have ever played since most sand boxes are just horizontal while this one is horizontal and vertical if u catch my drift.
Also the graphics are great. Especially draw distance. Once you get to level 3 agility you can make it to the top of the tallest building which is the Agency Tower, and I could just stand up there for hours admiring the draw distance. My sig on these forums is a picture from that game.
Anything else ask me, also I would love to play co-op in your game if you get it, so toss me a friend request![]()
Thinking about it, going to play the crackdown demo a bit more and see if its worth it.
I played the E3 demo for Lost Planet a few hours ago through the marketplace too, but I was kinda unimpressed. The graphics were really good, and I liked the "anchor" grappling hook, but the overall controls felt sluggish and aiming was a nightmare. Did the finished game get any improvements over the demo, for those who played both?
Regarding the Crackdown demo. I played the demo too and I really did not like it, but found immense fun in the full game, for what it's worth.
edit - Xav, is their spaces between the words in your name on your gamertag? Or what?
I don't really like inverted up/down, but for some reason I do like it for left/right. Any option for that in the full version, can't mess w/ left/right in the demo.Originally Posted by Po

Yeah its "cube the newb", but I'm on my other 360 account right now to use my 2nd char for ffxi. I never really used marketplace before, but seeing all of those demos kinda turned me on to it. You can't purchase a full game (excluding Xbox Arcade ones) over the market can you?
Meh, I might buy it just for the Halo 3 beta code it gives, since it looks like they're still offering that deal on ebgames.
No, you cannot download the full games, except for the Arcade ones on the market place. But like, Shivering Isles, the expansion for Oblivion is available for download on there. So Cube the newb is your main one then?
Regarding inverted camera, etc, I do not know tbh with you, because I have been playing it since launch of the game and can't remember if I changed it or if I ever looked.
Jumping yes becomes just short of flying at level 4, you can reach the roof of anything in the game. Strength is also unbelievably fun, you can pick up literally anything. This huge globe at the observatory (which also gives an achievement), monster trucks, anything and throw them super far. Also you kill people with one kick at level 4. Explosions are also crazy. The space one explosion covers is ridiculous. Those are my 3 favorites.
I just got level 4 cars recently. The 3 agency cars all have a "special move" accessed with B at level 4. The car has a machine gun, SUV can jump and flip, Monster truck speeds up.
Guns are kinda meh, they are super strong at this level yea, but don't do anything special per say.
Coop over live is fun? I don't suppose theres a player vs. player option too? Seems like it'd be fun to be in the massive city and trying to kill each other, while throwing gigantic objects and jumping across the map.
No specific PvP per say, at this point, but they have said that in an update there will be more multiplayer specific, etc, but right now u can still hurt each other and throw shit at one another.
Also the nice thing is you could be on one side of the city and I could be on the other and we can just be doing w/e we want w/o obstructing the other, so I think that makes it really pretty cool.
I need to get going from work here, so I'll catch ya later![]()
Sent you a friend request.
What was the second big announcement Microsoft made? I didn't see any other big story.
I was wondering this too. The only things I found last night was a new Windows Mobile browser called Deepfish. And then the other thing was the content to come on the 120 gb hard drive was revealed. Both bits of information were pretty underwhelming.
Today, March 29th, Rockstar will be finally revealing a trailer for GTA IV on this website http://www.rockstargames.com/IV/
Edit: Some PS3 owners have sent me PM's regarding video conversion for the PS3, I found a new one that works very well

Not really about the next-gen consoles, but I didn't want to open a whole new thread just for it.
.hack vol.2 finally has a release date... 5/8. Not sure who here plays it, it's actually a pretty good game (vol.1 //G.U. definitely was). They improved pretty much everything that was annoying in the first series, so it's definitely worth giving it a shot if you like RPGs.
How is the A.I. and combat system now? (I actually could have lived with the mediocre combat system, but the A.I. system made me stop playing after the first game). Also, do you still need to equip items for skills, and can you change what your party members equip?
If they fixed all that I'll definitely look into it...
A.I. actually responds and cures you on time heh... the melees are also pretty good with doing good damage, given the fact you have to give them their gear. Abilities are equipped via your weapons, you pretty much "customize" your weapons and accessories/body piece to add different effects on yourself, but specific weapon skills for instance you learn by yourself as you use them more and more.
The battle system is extremely fun, I still play it once in a while to buff up my characters to get ready for volume 2... it's really entertaining, and not as annoying as the first 4 games were.
You should definitely give G.U. a chance, I was also reluctant at first (even though I played through the first 4 for story purposes), but I was very pleased with the changes.
Yea, I considered playing the other 3 for story purposes but after getting all the way to the last boss for story mode in the first game, just to wipe the first time due to stupid A.I. (idiot Mistral stood perfectly in the middle of the room and didn't move so got hit by EVERYTHING), I got so ticked I just read the story online later.![]()
I'll look into it anyway.
G.U. also has awesome avatar battles...they're so addicting lol.
Yay! I am so excited for this. I am guessing it is going to be New York (Liberty City) again. Rumor is it is going to be a repeat area.Originally Posted by Who Dat?
