I'm looking to mod my xbox 360. Anyone know the most reliable place/site to have this done? Also, ideally I would like to keep my xbox live -- anyone here have a modded 360 and still have xbox live? Or did it not take long before MS found out?

Only a game or two are worth buying on most systems. Not worth the 300$ or so gamble of getting your console bricked, red ring warrantee voided, or XBL voided.

They don't ban your xbl account, only the system itself. They won't do anything to the account, except maybe keep a closer eye on it in the future.

I've had my flashed xbox for almost a year, and i'm still on able to access live. IMO it's worth it just for the money saved. I won't give two shits if I ever get banned from live, and the rrod can be fixed via xclamp mod.

If you're that big on live games just buy used arcade or something and play your online games there, while playing your modded 360 games on the other?

Interesting that the PS3 only has 1 game in the Top 10 too. I wonder if that boost in sales has more to do (or is at least reflecting in a big way, on top of 80gig going bye-bye) the demise of HD-DVD and Blu-ray as the clear next-gen format.

Well yeah, the tax credit boosted it, a little. Most people haven't gotten their returns yet so I won't say it's the sole cause. However, when the rumor came out about the 80 gig discontinuation, I went to Best Buy about a week later. They were all gone.

Good for the PS3 NPD wise though, even with the shortages, it's better percent-wise than last year's 5 week. I'm interested to see if this is maintained after the 80 gigs are gone, though.

Mind giving me some advice on how you got your system modded?

I'm almost certain I'm just going to mod it, I'll make due without having XBL.
