we had about as many as we had ps3's. maybe slightly less, but they were selling slower as well. at most we'd have 6 pro's and 2 elites, where ps3's we'd have like 10 40gigs

Dont get me started on this.... the hype around the game make me hate it before it's even released.


The guy in the video just spent how long...15min(?) building a 30sec stage that look completly boring. A few block, one bridge and a sombrero. I just dont get it..its gonna be fun a couple of hours before people put the game back.

Looks incredible gimmicky yeah, but then again is not like there is a lot of stuff for PS3 (that is not avaliable elsewhere).

Customization is the only thing we see. Character customization, stage builder, messing around to show the in game physics. I bet there is more, but I've only seen 2 gameplay video showing people actually playing the game. The visual are beautiful, no doubt about it, but I'm seriously worried about the gameplay on its own. I cant see myself sit 10h to building a cool looking stage that will take 5min to complete.

I perfectly agree with you, however, this is not what bother me with this game. It's like everyone decided it was the best game ever before trying it, and before seeing any gameplay footage other than stage design (which is something that always look more fun in demonstration than it is in reality). If people tell me they want to play this game for its graphic..sure, it looks good. If they tell me they want to play with their girlfriend, works for me, but they keep talking about a gameplay we havent seen yet.

The "I'm intelligent because I can play unconventional games" attitude piss me off, especially when they arent really unconventional games. I could say the same about some Wii fanboy, iPhone owner and many others thing. It does look fun to mess with, but ingame physics has its limit if once its lost the novelty factor. You will need more than an extremly forgiving gameplay with no to little challenge to keep people interested.

Quite the opposite for me. Game like Donkey kong, zelda or tetris were fine, but they used to make me paranoid about the games I was picking. I remember my father bitching when I bought Diablo 1 because of the title and demon on top of the box

Because it's people I deal with every day? Because popular games dictate where the market will go, and where the money will be invested in the future? There is many reasons to be worried about gamer following trend and good marketing campaign. Not to mention there is always many reasons to be worried about people stupidity.

I said I'm worried because I find strange that developer wont show us gameplay video, but insist on the stage customization (a gimmick that most people will never use more than once). It's not normal we have 2-3 gameplay videos after 6 months, when there is 15 showing how "awesome" the stage builder is.
Why does it matter if I have a ps3 or not? Your argument imply that one can't critics a particular gameplay without owning the console. I'm probably going to have many occasions to play this game if it turn out to be as popular as the hype is. Also, what owning a ps3 would change in this situation? It doesn't imply I have to buy a game.

I already explained how it affect me in the first part of this post. As for my expectation, it's going to be proportional to the hype surrounding this game. If everyone say "best game ever" before trying it, I'm going to expect a lot from it.

Won't bother me a bit if the game turn out to be good. I generally love platformer, and I'm all for something interesting. It wont change the fact people are hyping a game before seeing real gameplay in action [2 video in custom stages], something retarded to do.
