Probably will, but if it'll be exactly identical it wouldn't be that thrilling (and would just make FF13 in general look like yet another cash cow).. Hell, if Versus will really play with a similar battle system to KH2 like some claimed it will, the game might even be more successful than FF13 itself. KH2 gameplay + actual GOOD story (cus honestly, KH2 was cheesy and silly outside of the organization storyline) will = an extremely well polished game. And obviously it won't play EXACTLY like KH, but even having faint similarities will be pretty good for me.Originally Posted by Norelco
I don't think it is a spinoff, but the casuals might, based on title. We'll know when we get real info on both games.
I just really wish SE did a sequel to FF Tactics. (I thought FFTA was going to be just that) I mean that cock tease scene with Ramza and Alma riding off was just.![]()
I agree. But like...having some overlapping musical themes (not the exact same song, but like a melody but using a different instrument), or the crystal lore being the same, or praying to the same types of dieties, stuff like that.Originally Posted by Exoduso
They could really hit a homerun with this, or fail miserably. Only time will tell.
Yeah I know exactly what you mean.. only time will tell though. Hell, we still haven't seen a single gameplay footage yet.
This is the most active thread, so I figure I'll ask here.
Do I buy lost odyssey tonight? or Do I buy DMC4 tonight?
I love rpg's, however work and school got in the way during the last one (ffxii) and I never finished it, dont know how into it I was either. I havent beat galaxy yet either, been too busy playing WoW.
I love DMC series too, but, which game is the most fun? Both can get kinda repetitive, but LO obviously has more hours of gameplay? But is it more hours of fun gameplay? And I know DMC has some replay value, but how much does either really have?
Debating buying one tonight and Gameflying the other, however large chance of picking up both this week if not keeping the one i gamefly since I have a few discounts available.
I would buy Lost Odyssey and gamefly Devil May Cry. They're both worth their value, but unless you plan on mastering the combo's in DMC you're really not going to get much out of it after the initial 7-15 hours of the first playthrough.
I'd recommend LO as a buy, since it is like 60-80 hours of (mostly fun) gameplay vs 10 for DMC? DMC is more suited to gameflying IMO.
I figure its more worth GFing DMC, since it's strange to rent an rpg, however the keep it option on GF is beautiful and I could always rent both at once if they were that worth it.Originally Posted by Semitry
Time to get me some LO. Thanks for quick answers. Exo wasnt on msn so I had to resort to the fastest moving thread ever.
Woot, bought LO. Exo hope your online incase there is something uber I don't want to miss early on like with FF12 lol.
There's not much you can miss in LO and if you do you can get them once your in CD4, but exo added the location of dreams, seeds, spells and item on the first post of the Lost odyssey thread
you can get an extra dream and accessory from a DLC on the JP XBL, its something that was given as a preorder gift here
Packaging MGS4 with the 80 gig won't hurt sales or profits at all, it'll increase them.
Those who already have a PS3 will be getting it anyway, and those without it will be buying the bundle. It's all about marketshare anyway right? MGS4 is going to sell millions anyway and they're being paid handsomely by SONY already, they're doing just fine.
They want to make the series even more popular than it already is in order to drum up interest for their next Metal Gear games... sure it's the end of solid snakes storyline but I'm sure they'll come up with something (or already have)
me personally I'll be busy playing Bionic Commando: ReArmed with my friends, I'll try to find time for MGS4 down the road.
Holy shit, this thread is getting too retarded to actually read. O_O
And that's saying something...
We should make a new rule. If you have Xbox 360, you can only comment on the happenings of the Microsoft camp, and if you have PS3, you can only comment on the happenings of the Sony camp. If you have both, just shut the fuck up for the sake of everyone (yeah, I know, that includes me. I'm doing it for the greater good). Because honestly nothing can be gained from you guys having a pissing contest that starts everytime something major happens and goes on for pages and pages. You insult eachother like little children and try to push your "point" to others, but the only thing you succeed in doing is looking like a tool to everyone who reads this thread.
Well, that's my two cents anyway...
so what are you trying to say?
Basically, if you are just gonna bash a console you don't have, shut the fuck.Originally Posted by XxSlusherxx

That's what I've learned from reading this thread.
Which is why I don't bother lurking much in here. Same few regulars that just go about exchanging blows for the past 2 years. I really, really hate this gen of gaming. No offense to you all, I don't blame these guys though, it's not their fault. It's just all of this mentality everyone else has built that brought about this Console War B/S. Sure it's happened in the past, but now it's even bigger than ever with having the internet around and all. I can't believe there was even a format war for movies, fucking unbelievable. I'm so glad it ended pathetically early. I am a pretty unbiased person myself, I eventually will own both 360 and PS3. For now my PC, Wii and DS will hold me over.
Yeah i found out LO is extremely simple. Old RPG's I was alot younger, I remember really planning ahead in fights and what I was going to do well in advance, where so far in LO when i try to do that I end up dying a bunch and taking forever in fights, where if I would have just hit attack a few times instead I would have progressed much faster.
Game is pretty good so far, it's late so the dreams were getting SERIOUSLY annoying. They are great reads, but at some of the points they hit well, they are the least of my concerns. I'd want to be fighting or doing something but ohhhh got a 10minute dream to read lol. At least they are really well written though. Exo is saying if you care about the story to read everydream that hits in the middle of the story or a cutscene - but is that really the case? There are times I'd love to skip them but im 100% sure I wouldn't remember to read them later lol. Do they really progress or affect the story much?
As far as MGS4+Ps3 bundle, I wasn't planning to get a Ps3 till mgs4 came out, so if I do decide to get a ps3, the bundle is absolutely perfect. It's a pretty good package too.
VHS vs. Betamax, LaserDisc vs. DVD? Any advance in technology has always been met with competing formats.Originally Posted by Larsa

I cannot understand people complaining about fanboy rants in a thread titled "The Console Wars" that was specifically created to prevent said fanboys from injecting their opinion into every other thread and making 10 posts a day bashing a system. To then post in said thread that the thread is painful to read because its addled with fanboy comments boggles the mind.
Even so you'd think they would learn something, I would hope so next time around a new format pops up. DVD had been pretty much the preferred standard for over a decade until BD hit.
For the record, I occasionally check in here to see if anything was posted (example: MGS4 PS3 bundle) so I can make a separate thread for it to prevent a console debate. But even that is inevitable. It just gets so tedious.. after 2 years this redundant debate is still going.
