Uh, if he had a single point in that "review" I would respect it. It is obviously his first time playing and he doesn't know how to turn off items(or even better the VERY OPTIONAL 1v1). Worst of all despite blaming himself he still says it's a "Fanboy only" game? He doesn't even right out and say "SSE is annoying" just complains about unlockable content.

Maybe he should play a game more than once before he reviews it? Or at least give it to his mom to review since they probably have the same proficiency in videogames.

Brawl is fun, but it kind of falls victim to a trait that most fighting games have; where the game is only fun if you're a good.

In the circumstances he laid out, SSBB probably sucks balls. It does require a modicum of proficiency and would be raw chaos if nobody had a clue. The fanboys only conclusion is mostly wrong, but understandable.

SSBB isn't the holy grail that everyone and their mother made it out to be?, and on top of that BRP and JoOeetheplatypuS going at it is f'n weird, freaked me out, had to do a double check on the names

I've made my mistakes of getting excited for games that turned out to be duds or misses (see: Lair and Heavenly Sword), but I finally got tired of getting too excited off of Screenshots/"Enhanced" Gameplay/Visuals/Sound/whatever makes a game sell without you playing it

Now I don't make any judgments, on any game, for any system, till I either have read many, many reviews (consensus) or tried and see if it did what it was supposed to do

BRP just cause you enjoy SSBB so much, doesn't qualify it as GOTF [Game of teh (yes I spelled the wrong for emphasis) Forever]
Some may not enjoy SSBB (Gasp!), not there style, or maybe there were changes that made the game look cluttered and not what the game used to be all about

I don't know why I'm quoting this man but P Diddys new slogan "Bitchassness" has invaded the gaming industry as a whole and it is an epidemic
Something you may enjoy the hell out off, may not be someone else's cup of tea, as ones opinion always doesn't speak for everyone

Why is the so much remorseful hate for games nowadays, I mean when this board was going cuckoo for coco puffs for Twilight Princess, that this Zelda game was the one, but 3 months down the line you started hearing/reading cracks of its no WW or OOT (whatever the comparison too) or wasn't what they were expecting

This generation has really changed my views on gaming, before I could enjoy games because they were f'n games nothing less, enjoyment, and hopefully leave some nice imprints of memories that I can cherish, and relive them over time, now games are marketed like you works cafeteria "Yesterday Special" hey play this game, enjoy it, but remember we left out parts here and there so we can milk the franchise a little more, or just rehash the game with better visuals with some technical jargon that takes degrees to understand

Now I stay quiet, let others bicker about the pros/cons of a game and see which is the medium for the games basis (I try to be true informed gamer, $60+ games are an investment) and make my purchase accordingly

I agree, SSE was fun up until the last level. It just felt like a final 2 hour grind until I could finally get Sonic. >_>

That's odd. I actually had Sonic unlocked before I got to the end of SSE.

There's definitely more than 1 way to unlock some of these characters. I still haven't figured out how to get Wolf.

The Ruins level, fall off when the elevator drops, in the second part of the level.

Go to the very bottom, a new door will appear, go through it and you will fight Wolf, defeat him to unlock.

Btw, SSE needs to be completed once to make that door appear.

He accuses only kids with ADD can do it and yet people of his grand old age in their twenties can. He doesn't even go into detail on how random it is but you are to assume it is because of items/stages, something you can turn off or change(but probably didn't in all of their 3-5 matches). He implies that this is his first time playing a SSB game making it all the more likely he learned how to jump in his first match that night. Sonic and Snake were heavily hyped (mostly by the fans, but it was predictable). Not having them available when you put the disc in the system for multiplayer is kind of bullshit. I think Sonic, Snake, their levels, and the extra game options should have been unlocked from the start.

Anyways, in the context they gave their um 'review' is accurate.

And it's not a review any more than a preview that says 'looks promising!' or 'looks iffy' is a review.

I know you're just whining about the words Fanboy Only but shut the fuck up. Some guys thought the game was too random and sucked in a single night of trying the game for their first time to find out they had no clue how to play it. This wasn't even Yahtzee's review, it was an entire group and written up by some sod named Vug.

still not really a reason to be upset, it really should have been expected to be an unlockable from the get go. really i like having more unlockables, so that way it gives you something to work on achieving.
