That's a pretty retarded reason to not like a game. God forbid games evolve. Who cares if it wasn't survival horror, it was still one of the best games to be released in a long while.Originally Posted by Meteora

So a game can't be fun if it isn't RE? Gee, all that time I've spent not playing that series has been foolishness.
What were you shooting at? The farm animals? I found myself having to sell a lot of ammo/grenades due to running out of space.Originally Posted by BRP

It's been awhile, I don't remember. But I recall killing everything possible. Including regenerators...Originally Posted by fantasticdan

2. Sure doesn't seem like it.
3. Refer to point #1
4. I never said you did. I just find it odd that you hate a game just because it went from Survival horror to Action Horror. That's like hating FF7/8 because they had a Futuristic Setting instead of a Medieval Setting. Now sure that could make you appreciate it less, but to say you down right hate it just because it isn't exactly what you want is pretty extreme.
I see where Meteora is coming from.
I love the Resident Evil storyline (corruption of Umbrella, T-Virus, Wesker, etc. Not Las Plagas shit), but I also loved the Survival Horror aspect of it. RE4 was too much action for my taste, in a "survival horror" anyways. Plus I think a following camera ruined Resident Evil for me. Fixed camera angles that never really showed you what was around the corner gave the game a better atmosphere.
Was RE4 a good game? Yes it was, I enjoyed it, just didn't like it as a Resident Evil
Will RE5 be a good game? Looks like it, and I'll definitely get it and enjoy it.
But will I long for something that returns to the kind of atmosphere that the original 3 had? You bet your ass I will
RE3 will always be my favourite survival horror game. The whole reason I think the original REs were scary were the tank like controls. In RE4 you see something that scares you or threatens you and all you need to do is pull out your gun and blow its head off from 10m. When it's easier to defend yourself it's less likely you'll be scared. If I played Dante in RE I wouldn't be scared at all.
I do like the changes RE4 made, but I just wish it was scarier, Regenerators had the right idea in terms of atmosphere and kill method (something you couldn't just empty your armoury into or if you got hurt enter your portible hospital). Even with killing everything on my first playthrough (often backtracking cause I didn't know where I was going) I still had enough ammo to take on the French army.
I don't see how you made it through the game on 3 bullets.Originally Posted by Elcura
I was going to make a joke that your gun could be empty if you're fighting the French, they've already laid down their arms.
At the end of the game I remember having a lot of ammo, but parts during it I would run low and have to rely on the pistol because everything else ran out.
Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way, I loved RE4 but man i never had a problem with ammo in the game. I could kill all the enemies and bosses without a problem unlike the other RE were you actually had to manage your ammo. If they up the difficulty and took away all that extra ammo, then you would have the prefect RE game. But shit that RE5 trailer has a massive amount of enemies all coming after one person.Originally Posted by fantasticdan
Also news going around is Walmart $100 gift card (on all items not just blue-ray) deal on a PS3 40 gig for this week. Will carry over to next week, they will doing $100 gift card on all blue-ray players (which the MGS4 bundle will count as a blue-ray player). So enjoy the extra money new PS3 owners, also best buy will be price matching Walmart deal so if you can't find a bundle there price match at best buy.
The fight where I knew something was really wrong with RE4 was the fight with Krauser (or whatever his name was) where you could practically go a very dangerous close range fight without getting hit thanks to QTE. That kind of close quarters fight would have made you shit your pants in previous RE games (I'm thinking the fights with William Birkin mostly).
Where did you get that info on the Wal Mart deal?Originally Posted by CaptainN

The current deal you can find at walmart.com or in your newspaper.
Fuck camping at Gamestop on June 11, I'm sitting inside Wal MartOriginally Posted by CaptainN
Ok, soooo I turn on the PS3, load my GTA4 save, stole and helicopter and mid-fly the game freezes, not the PS3 does not read any games.
This means the thing is dead and I'm going to need a new one? >.>;

P.S. /sadpanda but kinda saw it coming.
That really sucks dude. It's the reason I held back on buying a 60gb off e-bay or used from GS. I don't want that to happen 2 months down the road and end up being out a lot of money. I think a new model has a 1yr warranty? I would buy a prolonged warranty if TRU offered it.Originally Posted by Tajin
They'll offer it, and it should be about $64.99. It does cover accidental damage though, which most other stores don't.Originally Posted by Tyche
what the heck kind of accidental damage you gonna get on a ps3? lmao
