I want Infinity Ward back![]()
Oh god no... why would they go back to the team that made COD3? >.<Originally Posted by Koyuki

Looks good, I've been waiting a while for a FPS set during WWII.![]()
They want to pump out as many games as possible. I'm pretty sure I heard they already started working on it before CoD4 was done.
Are there any worthwhile remotes for the PS3 as a DVD player yet? 280 pages makes the search results for this thread a lot of mush and amazon's search hasn't given me a whole lot to work with. I really tried to see if this had come up before.
I'm really only interested in buying a remote that can control both my tv and my dvd player, which rules out a lot of what I've seen so far. If that doesn't exist yet I'm perfectly happy to wait.
If for some reason it will never exist I'm curious about why. Because the current offerings that require crap like a USB thing sticking out of my PS3, or lack basic things like power buttons and volume controls are extremely unsatisfactory.

It won't control your tv, though.

You can always just watch the Metal Gear Solid Retrospective on Gametrailers, it has a good deal of storyline explanation in there and won't take several dozen hours to view if you're dying to play MGS4 already but don't want to be completely lost.Originally Posted by Semitry
You won't be able to experience the awesome in-game moments in the previous games of course, it will completely spoil all the previous storylines and it's a little hard to keep track of everything the first time you watch it because there's just so much information in so little time, but it does stay completely hands-off as far as the MGS4 story is concerned, so you should get everything you need to get without any MGS4 spoilers (which reading other peoples threads might have).
I'm already through Act 1 and halfway through Act 2 ... damn...what an amazing story. I did the retrospective plus I downloaded "The Database" so I'm on top of the general plotline.
Yeah I just went and watched the retrospective last night. Going to jump into the main story when I get home from work. MGS's universe is deep as freakin hell.Originally Posted by Norelco

They're pretty much all related in some fashion it seems.Originally Posted by Deejay

So I went ahead and bought Alone in the Dark on Tuesday, and I have to say I don't regret it at all. It's really fun, and pretty much what I expected it to be. I really don't understand the review scores - generally they reflect how I feel about a game, but the scores are all over the board on this one, and I couldn't disagree more (3.5 from IGN).
I'm on the last Chapter, but I still think I have 1/3~1/2 of the game left (think Wind Waker style length stretching). The only parts that really suck are the driving sections. While the controls aren't as fluid as RE4, they're not nearly as bad what they are made out to be. So just curious, but did anyone else pick this up?
How long?Originally Posted by Alina

The puzzles are pretty clever, especially destroying the Roots of Evil. Some of the stuff really requires you to think outside the box. You always have the proper tools at your disposal, it's just a matter of combining them or using them in the correct way.
And, of course, there's nothing quite like putting tape on a Molotov cocktail, and sticking it to various enemies. It's especially gratifying if they run into a group of their friends!
Like I said, the driving sections are pretty unforgiving (don't let anyone tell you otherwise), but if you can get through them, the rest of the game is really fun.
