Define fast in overtaking a competitor with a year long head start in a market that devours Halo.
That kinda came out wrong but was lazy to fix the comment. Would be nice to know how many of those 360 sales are because of defective consoles![]()
Its a good question, who knows.
I'd like to think that the defective consoles haven't caused -that- much of "repeat" sales, because my 360 that I purchased a few months after they were released has been repaired twice, free of charge, and is still under warranty.
That's pretty awesome that the 360 is stinking it up. Hope the pace keeps up until MS stops robbing people on hardware.
MGS4 doing over a million is very impressive considering MGS's and the PS3's history on game sales.
I think worldwide MGS4 has sold more then 2 million but doubt those are official numbers.
Gears of War 2 special edition:

Definitely worth the extra $10.
Also, this may have convinced me to take my pre-order off of Sonic Unleashed. So sad too, when the platforming parts looked like good ole' classic Sonic. Will Sega never learn?

I think 1up summed the new Sonic game up best when they said that the Sonic levels seemed like a return to style for the franchise but when they reached the wolf stages they couldn't help but ask themselves "why?".
HEY SEGA, SONIC WAS COOL BECAUSE HE WAS FAST AND HAD AN ATTITUDE, NOT BECAUSE HE HUNG OUT WITH GIANT CATFISH THAT IRONICALLY LIKE TO FISH.
Wow, PS3 doubled 360 sales in an economy in the shitter. Didn't think MGS4 would have that impact...
Then again, I went and got my PS3 bundle at midnight...
Probably had something to do with a lot more people already owning a 360, and the U.S. government handing millions of people $600.Wow, PS3 doubled 360 sales in an economy in the shitter. Didn't think MGS4 would have that impact...
I bought mine (MGS4 bundle) as a Blu-Ray player. Sony better not be counting on making money from me buying any other games for it, 'cause I certainly have no plans to for a while.
So he or she could have backwards capability?
I'm not sure why people are surprised at PS3 sales doubling when a huge, critically acclaimed exclusive was bundled with the system at its release.
Are peoples memory that short or have they just forgotten that 360 sales did the same thing when Halo 3 launched. And I'm not saying that MGS4 had as big of a launch as Halo 3, but Halo 3 also didn't come packed with the only version of a system that offered backwards compatibility either.
what's the difference between regular DVD and blueray? I watched both version dvd and see nothing difference other than the internet stuff.
What kind of TV do you own?
There is a huge diffrence, if your not watching on an HDTV that supports a 1080p resolution and using hdmi thats why, from the sound of it you dont have an HDTV at all, mosy on down to ur local circuit city or best buy and take a look.
Me personaly I hate not watching in blu ray now.
Same, I've been spoiled by HD, every time I look at something in SD I find it hard to look at.
First it's Blu-Ray >.>;...sorry
There's a huge f'n difference
Some people say here, that there's no visual difference from 720p or 1080p or they can't see the difference, but there is
You really do see a difference, if you have/get the right accommodations
A HDTV 40+" LCD/Plasma
HDMI wires + a Blu-Ray player (PS3 is a good bet)
Optional: Surround Sound, be it 5.1 or 7.1 will make a huge difference
I have a 46" Sharp Aquos 1080p LCD, and have my PS3 connected HDMI, and my god, some Blu-Ray movies just jump off my TV
They visual eye candy you get from watching movies is in another league, my eyes sometimes can't handle it and I start tearing up, just because my eyes couldn't adjust quickly enough or it happened to fast
Same as in Cinema, IMAX shits all over regular theaters

1 example. Planet Earth
Blu-Ray > DVD > Broadcast HD > Broadcast SD
The shark jumping scene in Planet Earth (Great White flip kill) in 1080p looks so realistic, it almost has a 3-D flavor to it
