Warioware and Madden. Maybe the 1:5 ratio includes VC games.
Madden games never appealed to me, its funny cause I never understood why they sell so good.
They never appealed to me either but Madden, like the Wii appeal to the casual gamers not hardcore gamers like us.
Seems like all of the Wii games have to rely too heavily on the Wii-mote interaction. I mean won't it grow stale after awhile? Cause it doesn't have the technological grounds to play with like the other 2 systems.
Umm..Zelda, Elebits, Warioware, Rayman, Trauma Center, Wii Play, Super Monkey Ball, and DBZ: B? I won't count WiiSports since it's free, but I didn't exactly strain my brain thinking of them. Also, according the the financial report linked in that article to the offical Nintendo report, those game sales did not include VC downloads.
I personally have Zelda, Warioware, Elebits, Wii Play, and TC. All of them I love except Wii Play, which is just ok, but it's basically a $10 game counting the controller, so it's worth the money spent for sure. Is it really that hard to believe people are buying Wii games to go with their Wiis? If the numbers are like this now, seeing the heavy hitters later this year will be something to see. 8)
As for technological grounds...come on. It's been said time and time again that the Wii isn't trying to compete with the other systems graphically, why does everyone keep putting it on the spotlight for it? The Wiimote is going to allow games to come out on the Wii that can't come out anywhere else. Warioware and TC are just the tip of the iceberg, and as long as they keep selling, devs will be wanting to get in on the action. I expect to see some really momumental strides in the way of innovation, rather than graphics, for the Wii. When I want intense high-def graphics, I'll just look elsewhere.
when nintendo comes out with a matrix style virtual gaming or at least a helmet + motion control then i'll buy it
until then i'll keep playing wii sport in my friend's house once every 3 or 4 weeks or something
well, because it obviously is a major aspect of gaming a lot of people care about... it's like how people try to act sophisticated and say they don't think physical appeal is as important as the "inside stuff" in their partner while every poll/survey shows like a great majority of both men and women actually do :wink:As for technological grounds...come on. It's been said time and time again that the Wii isn't trying to compete with the other systems graphically, why does everyone keep putting it on the spotlight for it?
I say the same thing about the PS3. I get all the fun I need from it once a month at my friend's house, and my credit card thanks me for it.KH3, where art thou? (I'm guessing it's somewhere in '09
)
but ps3 isn't selling innovation in controls while wii is
I'd agree with you if the Wii could play a DvD, even though DVD players are pretty commonplace these days.Originally Posted by Kenai

At first I was kinda bummed about the no-DVD player in the Wii, then I realized that I can buy a newish DVD player from my work for ~$21, so I was like "Meh" and just bought the DVD player.
Also, the Wii is selling innovation via the Wiimote, but that's not all it's selling, GRT. It's about half the price of the other consoles, has the Nintendo franchises backing it up, has the VC, built-in Wifi (I didn't even consider this before, but it's apparently a big deal with some folks), and is apparently easy to develop for (big, big, BIG deal). I think it's a little much to say it's only trying to appeal to the casual gamer market (not with Zelda, and Metriod, SSBB, Fire Emblem, and others on the way), but of course the Wiimote isn't going to appeal to everyone, at least not with a handful of launch games and early releases. But if you don't like it, just don't buy it, or wait until you do like it. You might not see one again for awhile, but hey...![]()

Fact: Wii has more titles that are worth playing and buying than the PS3.
Fact: Nintendo has way better exclusives than both Microsoft and Sony.
The easy to develop for notion I am sure has alot to do with sharing very similar internals as the Gamecube.
I dunno, it just seems like yesterdays news being based on last generation technology.
Nintendo could have almost as easily gotten away with releasing a new gamecube with a wii-mote. Which is essentially what they've done to a lesser extent.
It just seems to yesterday, thats all.

I don't understand why people say that the Wii's game selection is zomg crappy, when I can't remember a system in history that has more than a handful of worthwhile titles before at least...6 months into it's life? A year? The Wii isn't there yet. if you're gonna give your PS3 time, give the Wii time too, or at least don't bash it's library, especially when it's better than the PS3s.
And fyi, being "easy to develop for" means a lot more than just graphical power. It ISN'T a Gamecube ffs. Get it through your head that JUST LIKE THE OTHER CONSOLES *hint hint hint* the Wii's graphical power will probably take years to fully be realized. Stop comparing it's launch titles and ported-over-from the Gamecube's titles and all that it's capable of, you'll never win a crappy arguement like that. That's why the games on the PS3 usually look shitty compared to the 360's best, or at least that's what I hear. And even if it was a "Gamecube", that would still mean it's capable of putting out games that look better than the best of the PS2 titles.
Well the debate on game selections isn't in favour of the Wii anymore, it certainly was at launch.
Playstation has some very good games out for it.
lollllllllllllll, if only everyone realised that.Originally Posted by Kenai

Err...not anything ground breaking that I can think of. This summer looks nice for the PS3 with a few nice titles, but the Wii has a few huge Mario games, SSBB, Fire Emblem, and Metriod around the corner to answer...
It will be interesting to see I suppose, but I'm predicting SSBB to smash everything else this year, if it even lives up to half of the expectations. Please don't underestimate that game, it will bite you in the ass later.
Nothing at all, i just thought what you said was rediculously funny.Originally Posted by Mysterio
Like i said before, history has done proved that "new graphix n technologies" mean jack and shit when it comes to video games. The Ps1 and PS2 have proven it, the DS is now, and the Wii will follow.
Another thing that i find even more mind bogling is that the Wii has way more lasting appeal if you take into account all of their exlusives. Knocking it's library is like, the last thing you should talk bad about with Nintendo, all things considered. They're getting Mario, SSBB, Metroid, Another Zelda, and Final Fantasy, and thats not even counting their soon to be crazy 3rd party support. The Wii is going to turn out to do everything the PS2 did last generation.

Saying that they'll be hardpressed to top Zelda in graphics isn't discounting other games, I am sure SSB and the others will be smash hits. I wasn't discounting that at all don't worry.Originally Posted by Kenai
