Plus this is a multiplatform game there is very little reason for them to be bias.
Im not a big star wars fan either, but I know a shitty useless review when I see one, and I really think this is the case, im not sure how much you read these materials those two sources post but you'd know it if you read them often. I used to read EGM when I worked at gamestop because I got a free subscription to it, and they always did horrid reviews. My small expiernce with 1 up hasnt been favorable and they review horribly as well.

Think 1up and EGM are the same people. Some playstation magazine as well as some xbox magazine also gave it mediocre scores.

Edit: Heh, looks like you suffer from it also.

It feels and controls like the psp version (I was hoping it'd be nothing similar as shooting on that game was a complete fucking chore) but so far so bad. The recoil the guns have when you're in close combat is hilarious; aiming at someone's chest and seeing the crosshair shoot straight up towards the sky is leet.
Good god I couldn't believe the recoil when I started shooting. It seems like the only remedy is to put it on burst fire. Automatic is worthless. I should say that I really haven't been able to play much though because of the waiting times.

1up doesnt even have a review posted on their website at all, but I was able to read the ESM mag one, roommate gets them for free. We'll see when ir releases but still hate this shit magazine. I actualy never realized EGM was in the "1up" mostly because like Ive been there twice and read a review someone posted here about it, never really paid attention to the button for it at the top. So I find it odd no review on the site.

Playstation Magazine scored the PS3 version at 3 and a half stars, PS2/PSP versions got 4 stars.

The primary issue with the game is apparently just archaic gameplay mechanics.

Talking about SOCOM? I wouldn't mind reading the review.

the comments on "throwing stuff getting old fast" I don't see how that can be possible... it's not like you have to think w/ force throwing... you just use it and aim in a direction and auto target does the rest lol... Dunno, gonna have to try it myself... only reason I can see it being bad is it everything is the same and the mob AI sucks. Combat can be awsome, but if all mobs act the same and there is no real "change" after the first few lvs it can get repetitive.

IGN reviews may generally suck, but I like what they write about the games. They usually give the most detailed reviews [irregardless of what they actually rate the game]

My biggest complaint with the demo was the clumsy force controls. It was too much of a hassle to throw stuff, even people by themselves. So I stopped using it.

Sortve aggree. When i first tried it my Force lockon was bouncing all over the place. But i wouldnt give a game a mediocre score just because i coulnt throw that ONE box at hide my eye on lul.

And archaic controls? What did they want, Right Analog stick lightsaber control? And the AI wasnt THAT bad imo. They seemed to fight against me in the demo just fine, especially on the harder difficulty.

Quick Edit: i hate game magazines =\

The force grip controls are bad, they're a pain in the ass to use during heated fights. From what I gathered, alot of later levels involve you having to use Force grip to manipulate the environment while fighting multiple enemies.

I'm sure we've all seen the trailer where Starkiller crashes the Star Destroyer into the surface of Coruscant, apparently the leadup to that is fighting endless streams of badguys while having to drag it through the sky into a specific spot, and if you lose the grip for some reason, it will reset back to it's prior location.

Sorry but to me that sounds like challenging gmeplay. Heaven forbid there's enemies in your way while you're trying to do something.

Katlan said it the best for using force push during combat, just grab something and chuck it >.>. End result = dead storm trooper; just a matter of if you took 1 minute to do it(happened to me in the demo. i REALLY want to toss a piece of the hanger and i kept targeting boxes.) or if you took 10 seconds by just throwing whatever you grab first.

I usually don't even bother looking at the scores reviewers give the games. Instead I find the best way, like someone mentioned, is just to read the actual review part. I think that's why 1up tends to have shitty reviews is because they generally right absolutely nothing about how it plays. IGN on the other hand has great write ups, even if their review scores are terrible. It's like the Lost Oddysey review. Most places gave it a shitty score, but when I read the write up at IGN it actually sounded awesome and it turned out that it was.

On topic I'm going to wait and play TFU for myself. I loved the Jedi Outcast series and from playing the demo this really just seems like the evolution of that. Unless the game changes dramatically from the demo I can't see myself not liking it.

I couldnt agree more, everyone should play a game for themselves to access their own decision, because each gamer has diffrent taste.

I cant wait till next week, my gamestop is doing midnight release, ill be the first mofo there too. Now to choose what system to get it for...

Burnout Paradise hasn't added the patch for trophies yet

Uncharted you have to start all over again, cause anybody can just borrow someone elses file....and bam all trophies

Best way to get trophies for Uncharted is to play up to chapter 2 on easy, then return back to chapter 1 (always on easy mode) and complete the tasks @ hand, I got maybe replaying that same chapter 15-20 times and unlocked most trophies

Then breezed through the game on easy to accumulate the certain weapon kills, and finish the game on easy
Next I started on Hard, finished that, I got trophies both for Normal/Hard

So only thing standing in my way of Platinum is beating the game on Crushing....oh so many chapter restarts/checkpoints lie ahead of me
I have like 30/60 treasures...there's alot of hidden ones. Are the gold treasures the only ones that shine from a distance or do the other ones shine as well?

Most are easily spotted....they shine very brightly, just have to move your camera around in every area to look for nooks/crannies

Some are easily found, some are obscure/out of the way

When I originally played this November I got 45 first try just looking everywhere, now I just used gamefaqs for where all 61 are

Yes there are 61 Treasures, the Strange Relic, counts as a Treasure, even though you get a trophy for it on it's own

I got Platinum on Uncharted..... took 6 days total, had things come up in between (real life situations)

Crushing is a Pain, but after playing PixelJunk Eden (80% trophies so far on it) Crushing felt like a cake walk

Remember in Crushing don't play the game like you did in Normal/Hard, when too many enemies, stay back, let them come to you, if in small bursts, go offensive and kill them quickly

Another smart move is to always keep 1 enemy alive until the end, when you know no more baddies, and always go for a brutal combo... most of the time I never needed extra ammo/weapons due to this cause if you combo kill someone, you get x2 the ammo

The Plane Crash, The Flooded Ruin Area, The Jeep Shooting, The Church, are the most annoying, hard parts to go through

Also nice trick I learned is, if you can try to initiate the next cut scene and all enemies disappear

Helped me in some of the chapters, rather than fight all of them, I just ran to next part

Do the enemies drop 2x ammo if you finish them off with a steel fist?
