Man I'm loving the 'Be A Pro' mode of NHL 09. First time in quite a while a game had me pumped enough to jump out of my chair.
The guy I made hadn't gotten a point in the first 6 or 7 games or even been on the ice when my team scored. I think I was -4 or something shitty. Then in overtime I intercepted a pass, got around the last defender and burned the goalie for the gamewinner. Fuck yes! I love this game.
Has anyone joined an online club yet? I'm wondering how that works. Can you train your pro offline and use him online, or do you need to skill up with online experience?
First person to quote this gets a Little Big Planet Kratos sackboy code.
To Hideo Kojima or whomever decided that putting a sluggishly controlling and cheap-ass fight sequence at the end of MGS4 can lick the hairiest part of my taint. Perhaps my skills are just shit, but that was a very frustrating end to an otherwise fantastic game. Nothing like taking over an hour to beat that last boss >_>
An hour? Took me like 7 minutes, maybe less, my memory sucks. I didn't really have any problems with that fight.
The very end where Solid and Liquid Ocelot throw those exhausted punches was pretty awesome. I dunno, I just had issues with the block/dodge mechanics thinking they were going to be similar to more standard fighting games. (i.e. if you don't block the first hit of a combo you can't block any of the subsequent ones until the combo is [partially] over)
Anyway, after watching all the stuff from the debriefing I am throughly pleased with MGS4. Maybe once I can get it used for around $30 or $40 I'll probably pick it up again to try some repeated play through and Metal Gear Online.
Pretty sure I just got screwed by Sony.....been waiting since yesterday at 5pm for my socom qore beta code never came....bastards.
My stupid LBP kratos code accidentally ripped when removing the sticker had to use a damn razor blade a hour of intense concentration to get the rest of the bar code.
yea my code from preordering it never made it to my inbox, is why i never got my extras to give out =/ had to use the ones from my other codes to even get in myself
their whole email system is weird...ah well was kinda pissed but now it just forces me to do my engineering homework so whatever!
