Most of the time betas(especially open betas) are just demos to advertise the game. They could end up fixing things, but that usually doesn't happen.

I've done a lot of beta testing, many of the games I've tested have had bugs that I have reported and they didn't make it into the final release.
I really don't know where you guys come up with this stuff.

Most public beta testing (buy this game, get a beta key!) is a stress test at most.

After FFXI I've never even bothered to report anything in any game. But things like the quick select being screwy, forcing the over the shoulder view with NVG, grenades being cumbersome, and more, needs to get fixed.

You haven't apparently played many Socom games. The game is due next month, so they have roughly have to re haul a majority of the actual game to make it even moderately good. The game was the best third person shooter on the market, so they went ahead and decided to incorporate parts of Ghost Recon and Call of Duty (enemy on radar; something Socom never had) and fell on their faces.

I already mentioned it, but Zipper (the guys who made the actual Socom) had an open beta for Socom 3. Nothing, was changed, nothing. The game was littered with bugs, such as not being able to tell the difference between a teammate or enemy from within a distance..the crosshair never turned red, instead it was green for both players.

So you wound up guessing and shooting at one of them and then hearing the moans of the 5 year old on your team you just TK'd, who's made it his mission to do the same to you every round afterwards.

I had tons of fun with the beta during the first few hours before I started to notice all the bugs and stuff. I barely play the beta because I don't have the patience for 10+ minute loading times. Some people on PS3forums said that the closed beta was a better version but they could easily be lying. I'm sure they will have these issues fixed when they release the game. It's still a first day buy for me.

I noticed that the last what 100 pages arent really wars at all, unlike other forums if you look they have all out fanboy nerd wars(i know im a nerd) anyway, everytime I read another forum they constantly bitch and complain about exclusives which isnt very fun to read ;/

Unrelated to that^ but
My toys r us and many others that still have 40gig ps3 in stock are doing a bundle deal where you get a 40gig ps3, sonic(2006), the recharging dock, and 2 blu ray movies for 349.99(roughly). I know its not too stunning of a deal but it is cheaper than buying the console outright ::shrugs::
