OK, so I think I'm going to be picking up a new 160GB PS3 today. Going to start out with Demon's Souls, GT5 Prologue, and either White Knight Chronicles, GoW 1/2 Collection, Little Big Planet, or Valkyria Chronicles. LBP probably has the most replay-ability, but what about the other 3? How's the replay value on the others?

I'd skip on GT5 Prologue since GT5 itself is out in just a months time. LBP2 is due out in January also, just so you know, and its backwards compatible with all LBP1 DLC/created levels, so unless you want the trophies or the LBP1 official levels I'd just pass on that also unless you got $29 to burn.

God of War Collection you're pretty much done with on the first playthrough unless you're after the trophies and the unlockables from beating the harder difficulties. Not played Valkyria Chronicles personally (I want to get it, just its still $45 for a used copy in my area, where-as it's $19 new in the states ;/), but everyone who has played it hasn't shut up about it so I'm assuming it'll last you awhile, especially if you dive into the DLC chapters. No comment on WKC since it seems to be a love-it-or-hate-it kind of game.

Demon's Souls will last you quite a long fucking time if you can bear with the games stupidly steep learning curve and need of memorizing enemy placement. I've clocked 100 hours into it working away at my platinum trophy, and still played it for some time after that.

A glance over the Greatest Hits list never hurts either though incase you want some other stuff to substitute in : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...#PlayStation_3

GoW 1/2 I want to play just for knowing the story when I get 3.

Thanks for the note on GT5, for some reason I thought it would be out next fall. LBP looks cool, and might be able to get my wifey to play also. Demons Souls difficulty won't bother me that much. Difficulty is what makes games fun IMO, having to learn and adapt how you play to do well. Makes my decision for #3 a little tougher. Might consider disgaea 3 or heavy rain then for my 3rd.

I have to admit, LBP is an awesome game to play with wife/girlfriend.

The Chronicles doesn't have the best replay value, but there is some. It's one hell of a game, that's for sure. Heavy Rain probably has some of the best replay value in my opinion, mainly because I love well done story-lines within games (hence my love for Valkyria Chronicles).

ended up getting GoW3 free with my console purchase.

Also picked up Demon's Souls, LBP, and Disgaea3 (love those turn based strategy games)

Next up will probably be Heavy Rain Valkyria Chronicles.

Is it just me or has the 360 pretty much rolled over and died. The only stand out titles really coming to it in the next few months are Gears of war and Fable 3. The only 360 games I have left in my collection right now are Tales of Vesperia and Lost Odyssey - everything else seems to lose its replay value very quickly.

It's just you. They are banking pretty heavily on Kinect to be a console-relaunch. Who knows, if it flops we might see Microsofts next gen console come a bit earlier. I really don't think it will flop though, casuals eat that shit up.

Yeah i noticed this too. Halo Reach was the last game i really felt excited about, even that let me down(sucks compared to CE/2). Gears is alright but i'm not really going to lose any sleep over that one. Fable 3 is probably the only game i'm wanting atm, though 2 really disappointed me. Kinect(whatever) doesn't interest me at all either.

    Of course!

This reminds of of that Move video we were all laughing about some months back. "Pew Pew. Come on **chuckle**"

When has their been a genuine console war? Maybe a PC vs console argument a year ago or something. Probably should close this thread and make a general videogame news thread for stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread or simply doesn't work as a thread.

Anyway, this might be excited. I was thinking about getting into videogame renting again

I've been hearing that a lot of problems with Kinect is based on poor collaborating. Apparently, though it might take more than one try, once collaborated correctly it will be much better. At least for one game: Child of Eden.

    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...-kinect-launch

The Xbox 360 goes hands-free on 10th November with the launch of Project Natal sorry Kinect.

But what games can you buy for it on launch day?

These 17, according to Xbox Live's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb.

Incidentally, Hryb said that total is one less than Microsoft had ready for the US launch of the Xbox 360. And that's another example of Microsoft comparing Kinect to a console launch.

    * Kinect Adventures (Good Science Studio/Microsoft Game Studios) included with every Kinect sensor
    * Kinectimals (Frontier Developments Ltd./Microsoft Game Studios) $49.99 ERP (US)/$59.99 ERP (US) limited collector's edition. Limited collector's editions of the "Kinectimals" game packaged with a 7" plush toy that unlocks a new animal and toy in the game will be available at select retailers.
    * Game Party: In Motion (Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment) $39.99 ERP (US)
    * Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 The Videogame (Electronic Arts/EA Bright Light), 49.99 ERP (US)
    * Your Shape: Fitness Evolved (Ubisoft), $49.99 ERP (US)
    * Dance Central (MTV Games/Harmonix), $49.99 ERP (US)
    * The Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout (THQ), $49.99 ERP (US)
    * DanceMasters (Konami), $49.99 ERP (US)
    * EA Sports Active 2 (EA SPORTS), $99.95 ERP (US) (Includes Heart Rate Monitor)
    * Zumba Fitness (Majesco), $49.99 ERP (US)
    * Kinect Sports (Rare/Microsoft Game Studios) $49.99 ERP (US)
    * MotionSports (Ubisoft), $49.99 ERP (US)
    * Deca Sports Freedom (Hudson Entertainment)
    * Kinect Joy Ride (Big Park/Microsoft Game Studios), $49.99 ERP (US)
    * Adrenalin Misfits (Konami), $49.99 ERP (US)
    * Fighters Uncaged (Ubisoft), $49.99 ERP (US)
    * Sonic Free Rider ($49.95)
Whole bunch of shovelware and a few dance games. Berry Excite.

It's on the Store for you guys? Canadian PS3s are forever stuck with the Netflix icon under their Video tab, whether it's installed or not. -.-

I wish anything 'App' related (PS Home, folding@home, Netflix, iPlayer, Video Editor, Photo Gallery, etc) would just be under a dedicated tab on PSN to download.
