Huh, so it actually makes use of the extension ports of the Move/Nav. Was expecting yet-another 'plastic gun shell for your controller so you can hit even less buttons!'.

Plastic gun, ho!

About fucking time. You are alright callisto, but you should make it more than that. Specific game-names like for MMOs or wiicodes for Wii games. That thread should contain everything about a player.

Kinect blamed for 'red ring of death' Xbox 360 failures

http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/image...4_49876453.jpg

Owners of Microsoft's Xbox gaming console have blamed its new Kinect hands-free controller of causing their consoles to fail.

Console owners told the BBC that their machines crashed shortly after plugging in Kinect.

Kinect allows gamers to control onscreen action with body movements.

Microsoft has denied any link between Kinect and the three flashing light error signal, known as the "red ring of death".

Ten-year old Adam Winnifrith told BBC Radio 4's You and Yours he had only used his Xbox with the Kinect a couple of times before it failed.

Warning signals

"We plugged it in the day we got it but only played it a few times before we got the red lights. The next day when we tried it again we still had the red rings of death and haven't been able to use it since."

It is quite a shame as we got loads of new games for the Xbox too and I never had a chance to play them."

Adam's father James bought the Kinect for Adam and his four-year-old and eight-year-old brothers. Unfortunately for the Winnifrith family the warranty on their Xbox expired on 16 December, 2010.

"It's very disappointing. We were planning to have a big New Year's Day party with karaoke microphones and a Take That competition. But now the Xbox is just sitting idle," he said.

He says he is planning to ask Microsoft if they would consider fixing it as it is only just out of warranty.

Online gaming forums have also been buzzing with accounts of consoles showing the Red Ring of Death shortly after plugging in Kinects.

"I have never had a single issue with my Xbox. i got Kinect for Christmas and the screen starting freezing randomly. Then on New Year's eve... BAM I got the red ring. Very sad," read one.

"Yep, I got the Red rings of death on Christmas day The very same day my kids got a Kinect," read another.

Microsoft said the Kinect had been "designed to work with every Xbox 360 sold to date."

"There is no correlation between the three flashing red lights error and Kinect. Any new instances of the three flashing red lights error are merely coincidental," it added.

Microsoft sold more than 2.5 million of the devices in its first month on sale.

It's probably the same case as the people who claimed FFXIII raped their PS3 drives.

People don't use console for awhile, something comes out that they want to use, they use it, and console goes kaput because it was near its last legs to begin with....

Kinect is just a USB device, there shouldn't be anything it's capable of doing that would actually cause a rrod.

Maybe....maybe not, we will never know.

Could possibly be the non-slim xbox just cannot handle the connect, or there will be too much power flowing through a USB port.

For those that have not played around with the kinects. On the slim xbox it plugs into it's own kinect port and that's it.

On non-slim models, the cord plugs into a y adaptor. One end of the cord goes to the USB port, while the other is a AC wall charger.

Nintendo has revealed new information about the Nintendo 3DS's upcoming Japanese debut, including a launch line-up of ten games, its first-party release schedule, and the system's estimated battery life.

As it began a three-day Nintendo World 2011 public event in Tokyo this weekend, the platform holder disclosed that the portable will have an approximate battery life of 3.5 to 5 hours when playing 3DS games, depending on operating conditions such as screen brightness levels and use of wireless features.

When playing DS or DSi games, the handheld will have a battery life of 5 to 8 hours. Fully charging the system's battery will take around 3.5 hours. Though many gamers are complaining the battery life is shorter than expected, the estimates are in line with that of a standard DSi played with the highest brightness setting.

The 3DS will ship in Japan on February 26 for ¥25,000, or $301, in "Aqua Blue" and "Cosmo Black" editions. Each of the portables will come with a charging dock, an AC adapter, an extendable stylus, a 2GB SD memory card, AR cards (for playing built-in augmented reality games), instruction manuals, and pre-installed software.

Ten games will release alongside the 3DS's Japanese launch: Nintendogs + Cats (three versions), Konami's Winning Eleven 3DSoccer, Capcom's Super Street Fighter IV, Tecmo Koei's Samurai Warriors: Chronicle, Square Enix's Tobidasu! Puzzle Bobble, Namco Bandai's Ridge Racer 3D, Ubisoft's Combat of Giants, and Level-5's Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle.

Nintendo also outlined its schedule for first-party 3DS titles in Japan: Steel Diver, Pilotwings Resort, and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D will ship in Spring 2011; then Star Fox 64 3D and Kid Icarus: Uprising will release in Summer 2011; and Mario Kart 3DS, Animal Crossing 3DS, and Paper Mario 3DS will hit stores at a later date.

The company has not yet divulged a firm release date or pricing for the 3DS in North America yet, though it's previously said it will launch in March. Nintendo of America will hold a press event on January 19, when it will presumably announce this information, as well as planned launch titles for the region.

Sony makes up for last week's lack-luster PSN update:

Spoiler: show

**Kaisha** · 2011-01-19 00:40

I still consider it lackluster. ;/

At least we got two game releases (aside from ME2 which imo is overpriced) rather than nothing.

I don't get how ME2 is overpriced, considering its the industry standard price.

Unless of course you were talking about the DLC prices.
