I never really use the 3D portion of my 3DS. When I get a new game, I turn it on just to check it out and then turn it right back off. You have to hold the damn thing in just the right way to see the picture perfectly and it ends up being more hassle than it's worth.

More fuel to the no PS2-BC fire. No word yet if they're just no-frill ports, or if Sony came up with some easy means of adapting PS2 code to work on the PS3 since I doubt they'd make a full-fledged software emulator for this.

Regardless, picking up Odin Sphere since I missed out on it years ago.

Idk, the retail scene up here is pointing to a lot of 3DS units getting picked up. The sucky part is, even with the new Zelda, I'm not really expecting to move a lot of Wii units.

Edit: well, I guess I should say I have no idea if it will get up to that $589 million. Here's hoping for a good holiday season for Nintendo lol

At least the games are priced very reasonably, especially given how obscure a couple of them are even in the used market. When they first announced it I was expecting them to gouge customers with $15-20 price tags given the $5-10 on PSX titles.

I dont think its ever been disabled for anyone. Linux support was disbaled.... if you have a PS2 BC PS3 its still BC as far as i know. They just stoped including the hardware..then the software.. in newer models.

correct, it isnt disabled, they removed the parts to make the system cheaper cause thats what most people wanted... it was for the better to have cheaper ps3's. just keep your ps2 around

@Katlan - I just saw that ad a few days ago and it is epic. Lightning was in it! (Though of course it should have been the awesome Vanille instead >.>.) Also Lightning seemed kind of unenthusiastic (she didn't even raise her hand or anything in the second shot when everyone talks about Michael).

Speaking of that - the PS4 better have backward compatibility with PS3 games. As for PS2 I just play on PC using emulator el oh el.

its all a matter of cost, if its the difference between ps4 launching at $600 or $500 i think they'll go for the cheaper price and not include it based on what happened with the ps3

That's only true if it's done with hardware emulation instead of software emulation.

I severely doubt the PS4 will be able to software emulate the PS3. The PS3 can't fully software emulate the PS2 so I wouldn't expect it to.

software emulation still has costs associated with developing said feature. i highly doubt ps4 will play ps3 games at this point as the cost will likely be high on its own
