Exoduso, myself, and many others I'm sure have invested a lifetime worth of time into FF11.

I do see a difference between a "pay to play" and a "Free MMO". For instance I felt compelled to slog time everyday into FF11 mostly because I was paying to play, while in Space Cowboy(Free MMO spaceshooter) I have no qualms about playing it once a month.

I think alot of that has to do with the lack of party requirements for Space Cowboy whereas it's serious business in FF11.

And I wasn't really ragging him for his invested time, it's just that online components usually add a lot more play time to games than a standard single player rpg- so I don't see how it could be a bad thing. Imagine the monster Arena in FFX, be able to form parties of 3 with your friends (you each choose a char to use), with updated/new monsters every update or so. I think that would be pretty awesome.

I invested enough time in FFXI, mainly the reason why I decided to quit almost a year ago (damn that seems so far off now heh... time flies people), and I'd probably refuse to play another MMO again, especially one that comes out of the devil itself (SE.)

And if online won't be significant, they shouldn't do it... look what a nightmare Enchanted Arms' online matches are.

You misunderstand me Exo, I don't mean for it to be turned into a kind of MMO, but the option to fight other players online and/or play cooperatively with a friend I think would be great.

I would've loved FF12 so much more if they had delayed the game to put on the PS3, improved the graphics, added the ability to have you and two friends actually be 3 characters going through this expansive world, had microtransactions in the form of expanded/new dungeons, license board, etc.

FF would just be that much cooler (to me) if there were an option to play the game cooperatively with others.

EB Games is going to offer a $250 trade in for Premium 360s up until April 27. Does this sway any of you anymore to trade in your current 360s for the Elite?
It definitely pushes me a little closer.

The more the reason to understand his reaction. There's no way I'm buying another FF online game either. Unless it's optional, fun, easy to pick up and play, no bots or player based economy system, and free to play online. Found myself leveling jobs for fun, then soloing, then leveling bst solo (pick up and level). The wait for events, endgame pops, and quest/mission gathering is too time consuming to be fun. Doing new jobs at least mix the experience up a bit.

Player based economies are fine, FFXI's problem has always been a lack of instanced alternatives to prevent players who have more time than you who just happen to all be on the same IP from controlling it.

FFXI would defintely benefit not even from just more solo-content, but from content that was doable w/ 2-3 people. Being forced into 6man parties, 18 man alliances, etc, is just inconvienant and time consuming for a lot of people.

If there will be like, an option to co-op in FF13, it might be very awesome if done right... as long as you can play through the game by yourself too.

Now, as far as the 360 goes... the 250 includes the HDD doesn't it? That would mean losing all your saves and stuff, which would kind of suck. Also, that probably includes the controller as well.

Idk, it definitely is intriguing, but I wouldn't want to give my 360 in april for 250 bucks, only to never get the Elite because the stores will be sold out, and i'll end up getting screwed out of both my 360 and the new one.

Besides, it will still be 350 bucks to pay.

trading it in would result in paying only 50 dollars more than the 120 HDD on its own. The cost of all the cables included in the box I think would more than make up for that. +everything else that comes with it obviously.

I agree with the 1 point you made though Exo. My main concern would be losing everything on my hard drive. I am really hoping here soon that M$ releases some info on a way to transfer that information. Shit I wouldn't mind getting it on a memory card and then just being able to transfer it to a new box, if I could?

Also, do all the dl's that I paid for get tied to my box or my account? Hopefully it is account and I could dl it again on a different box, but I am really not sure, can anyone clear this up? Either way I am confident M$ will do something to ease the transition from a current box to the Elite because they definitely have the best contact with the public out of all 3 companies.

That's actually not too bad then.... but still, what about the HDD items? The downloads aren't a problem because you can download everything for free again, it IS connected to your live account. The saves though will go down the drain.

Also, does gamestop even guarantee you an elite to replace your old 360? or do they just want you to sell yours to them for 250 and then you're screwed as far as trying to find an elite...?

Total assumption here, but I imagine you'd be pre-ordering the system at the time of the trade-in from the same store.
