So will FFXIII... the 360/wii game will be a new title, probably the title they're going to announce.

My guess it'll be something like that nintendo FF no one played because it sucked.
Isn't there a new crystal chronicles coming out? I never played the GC game, thought it looked stupid.
Yeah I never played crystal chronicles either, but I dont think Versus will leave the ps3, and i'm pretty sure thats the game everyones watching for. I can see that new game something like Crystal Chronicles on the wii or something aimed for younger kids. (And I believe another crystal chronicles is coming out, probably not ps3)Originally Posted by Exoduso
Yeah same, waiting for Versus more than the regular FFXIII, since it's supposed to be a mix between DoC and KH (and even though DoC was bad, they could probably improve it to make it awesome.)
A new crystal chronicles games has been confirmed for development on the Wii for a while now. As for the whole deal about the article afaik that's the only site with this story up so it's questionable if SE really said this.
Was reading this and wanted to point out that Square can't really separate from Enix. From what I've read Squaresoft dug themselves into a really big hole when the FF movie Spirits Within bombed so Enix bought them out. They became Square Enix though since Squaresoft was still pretty popular and Enix let a lot of people keep their old positions in the company.Speaking of Squaresoft.. hasn't the decline in Final Fantasy's only happened since Enix jumped on board? Enix wasn't there for the 3 PS1 FF's, I know that much. I never understood why Square did this. It is not like Enix really had anything to contribute except what, Star Ocean? It's not like Square needed that franchise. I always wished Square would kick Enix to the curb.
I always thought Square bought off Enix..
Check this out, halo related but everyone should get a kick out of it. Shocking stuff at the end and good action.

It's a stream but just as fast and more clear than youtube.
I had thought that too when I heard the news years ago but Squaresoft lost a lot of money on Spirits Within is what I'm told. It makes sense if you consider Enix and Square were big rivals before then and had little reason to merge out of the blue or anything like that. Square got low on money so Enix saw a chance to buy up their rival and made the process more of a merge since they let a lot of people in Squaresoft stay since they had a lot of good talent with them back then.
Enix a rival? I don't know about that I mean what Enix games were actually good besides Suikoden 1 &2 and VP?
Edit: But SE is milking the FFXIII series bad and its not even out yet, but I believe that FFXIII and verses will remain PS3 only. Due to the fact that the white engine is designed around the cell. The odds of it coming to the 360 are very low simply because we all the 360 has all of 350k units sold in Japan. Sure the Wii is hot but it wont get the main FFXIII due to the lack of power. But with all the games in the series you bet your ass the Wii/DS/PSP will probably get a piece of the pie.
Damn that sucks. It really is too bad that Spirits Within ever had to happen. Enix and Square were hardly rivals. The other side needs to win a few matches before they are actually rivals. Square just fucking owned everyone.

It won't happen man... it just won't.
From a money-making perspective, and seeing how they're spreading out all the titles, the only thing that would make sense is if they released an exlusive for each of the 4 leading consoles in PS3/360/Wii/DS.
If they wanted to make more money they would release it on more than just the PS3.
But I dont believe they can, Versus is under contract I believe.
Yea that would make sense. 1 exclusive for each of the 4 consoles I would agree with.
But that third one has already been confirmed as a cell phone game... so that would go to the DS?
As far as the screens for VS and normal XIII they both are gorgeous so of course they could not go to Wii.
At the most I would expect
XIII and VS - PS3 timed exclusive, 360 release 6 months to 1 year later
Cell phone game - DS
Game not yet announced - Wii
But again, who fucking knows.
Then SE doesn't give a rat's ass about money.
Explain why KH2 FM won't come to the US then? The demand for this game here and in Europe is like 20 times what it was in Japan, yet they won't do it.
SE does some crazy shit, and the milking process of FF13 includes separating the universe into 6~ titles, where each console gets a title or two.
And again, I still believe playing an RPG on PS3 > RPG on 360 (same title), since the PS controller is so much more comfortable for that setup.
Agreed, why does SE like to leave people in the dark.Originally Posted by Po
How does that make sense from a money making perspective to do 4 different titles? Have you ever developed a game before? Done 3d modeling? Those things don't just happen over night.Originally Posted by Exoduso
Anyways, it's all about business, SE will do what they feel will make them the most money or else they'll end up laying off employees like Sony.
http://www.usatoday.com/tech/gaming/...ony-jobs_N.htmTOKYO (Reuters) — Sony's game division said its European unit may cut up to 160 jobs, or 8.4% of its workforce there, as it faces hot competition from Nintendo and Microsoft.
Sony Computer Entertainment's (SCE) other regional operations, such as those in the United States and Japan, could also take some streamlining measures, but nothing has been decided, SCE spokesman Satoshi Fukuoka said on Wednesday.
Sony's new PlayStation 3 game console, launched late last year, has been running behind Nintendo's latest machine, the Wii, due to high prices and a limited range of software titles, while Microsoft's Xbox 360 hit the market a year ahead of the PS3.
However, SCE's Fukuoka said the potential job cuts are not the result of the PS3's slow start, but a response to changes in the game industry, including a shift to online distribution of software from packaged software sales.
The PlayStation and PlayStation 2 have each sold more than 100 million units worldwide, giving Sony a dominant position in the $30 billion video game market over the past decade.
lol @ the bolded part. Doesn't online distribution contradict Bluray.
EDIT: BTW, I don't really want 360 to get FF13, because if they do, MS has free reign on this gen's HD gaming and that won't end well!
Well DS is getting the FF12 sequel, so maybe nothing from FF13.Originally Posted by Po
And I still think 360 will get its own exclusive FF13 title, but not the same one PS3 is getting.
You make a good point with the FM aspect there Exo. I see no explanation other than it is a lot easier to get Japanese voice actors than it is to get Haley Joel, and the chick from Heroes. I think that argument makes sense.
That much is true. I love the feel of that Sixxaxis (however the fuck you spell it) I love how light it is and whatnot. And again, I still believe playing an RPG on PS3 > RPG on 360 (same title), since the PS controller is so much more comfortable for that setup.
