As cool as it would be of Sony to make the 60 gig cost 500 and the 80 cost 600, it just does not make any sense to me.

Why would they release a new hard drive SKU that is smaller than the 360s? At the very least they would do 120 I would think, if not 150, just to 1-up them. And then price it at 599, and show how it is a better deal than the Elite.

But if they do drop that 60 SKU to 500 I would be on it like a fat kid on a donut fo sho.

As odd as I think it is for them to drop the price by that big of an amount this soon, I would also be far more interested in a PS3 if they dropped down to $400 (if combined with some games that I'd like, most they are showcasing now to me are blah). That's the magic number for me for some reason.

Yea, that is what I played it on. But there was a comparison video between the upscaled 360 version, and the remake version. And it wasn't even close.

I agree with the 400 number as well. But it will still need a hell of a lot more games for me to buy it. I seriously cant picture myself buying one this year, not even really next year either. 2008 Christmas might be the earlliest Id consider buying one.

All 3 system are going to have enough worthwhile game in a couple of years, doesnt matter if they are 1st party or 3rd party, as long they are good game

I'm totally a PS3 Fanboy. Never denied it. In fact I don't recall ever trying to mislead anyone that I wasn't lol.

I despise the Wii, I have always touted it as a gimmick and an impulse buy, and I still stand by that. It's nothing but a Gamecube with a new controller.

I like the 360, it just doesn't have any games that I like enough to warrant purchasing it.

Nintendo has always relied heavily on the First Party titles, and I personally grew out of them back in the 90's. So take my responses with a grain of sand in regards to the Wii, as they are just my biased opinions.

Next Gen happened too soon. As is made obvious by the PS2 being the best selling console last month, the DS being the best hardware selling period, and the Wii being the "Next-Gen" current stalwart (correct word?). Not counting M$'s lead since they had a year head start. I am starting with November 06 when everyone had all their shit out.

Not one of those systems costs above 250, so obviously price is still the biggest barricade.

By the time the mainstream is ready for Next Gen, 1-2 years mebbe(?), hopefully the Wii:
1) Has its shit together and releases more good games and not 934839489 licensed Disney and Pixar games and 2 good games.
2) Has a big enough lead that it is too late for MS and Sony.

disclaimer: I am not speaking as a fanboy, by then I see myself owning all 3 consoles. Currently I own 2, but I would like to see Nintendo win this generation just because I am most fond of that company.

Anyway, if Wii does not get its shit together and/or have a big enough lead, then the PS3/360 will be in enough hands and take the lead from Nintendo.

GC sold 21.5 as of December. Xbox has sold 24.

Both systems failed miserably compared to PS2 (sold 115 million), which is why people still think PS3 will still win this generation no-contest. Which is why I dont like to call those people stupid quite yet, just misinformed.

Why isn't Master Chief black?

One of the first Halo 2 trailers actually showed a couple seconds of master chief putting his helmet on with one of these black general dudes talking to him. The first time i saw it I got confused because I thought the camera was just looking at Master Chief putting the helmet on, but you were actually looking through master chiefs eye's while the black dude was talking to him lol.

Bungie hasn't and most likely wont ever show master chief's face because they want everyone to be able to identify with him regardless of race or religion. (Sort of like how Link never really has a voice in any of his games.) He has a sort of low raspy voice that sounds like a mix between denzel washington or vin diesel. You could even say he sounds like an older Jason Statham minus the accent.

I would hate for Bungie to reveal the Master Chief's face. It'd be kinda like when a book you really like gets turned into a movie and they cast Jackass McMoviestar in the lead role, though he looks nothing like the book says the character does. It'd be kinda like that, but worse, I think.

Last generation the PS2 won because of their sick libraby of games and great exclusives. Those same people that touted that graphics mean shit are now saying that the PS3's saving grace is its omg amazing graphical power.

Bungie is worrying about actual gameplay first before they upgrade the game from a graphical standpoint. And judging by how good the last two halo's looked, I find it funny that anyone could doubt that.

Halo 3 doesn't look bad at all, it's an improvement from Halo 2 judging by those screenies.

Looks like a HD treatment to Halo 2 as the graphical style seems to be the same as previous two.

Hopefully this game can live up to the ridiculous hype it's been given. I would assume they learned from their mistakes on Halo 2.

I don't think the 360 guys will need to worry much, they'll repeat the same formula they have with the other 2 halo's and why mess with something that isn't broken. This game should satisfy the hardcore gamers.

haha that may be true as well, but XBOX has a big FPS following, and this game could cause a real stir if it winds up falling short of Gears of War. Stir in a bad way lol

I don't think people who say that Halo sucks have even played the game(s). Halo 1 LAN cannot be topped.

I will agree that Halo 2 was a letdown, and definitely not as good as Halo 1, but it was not a bad game by any means.

Also, lol @ people who have been trashing Halo 3's graphics...from the ALPHA and BETA builds of the game.

me personally? i'll take a fast paced shooter game over that slow as hell halo shit anyday.
