I'm not saying you have to like it, but disliking a game doesn't make it crappy.
quite honestly there are so many better shooter games out there it doesn't even really compare. if you were to just sit back and look at the game without knowing what it was you would see that. halo sells because of the name and the hype.
What Halo seems to does that these other "elite" FPS games don't is really involve the player. I'm sure Halo isn't nearly as good at "testing your skills", but when it comes down to it, people are going to want to play what they find most fun. It's hard for me not to have fun when playing Halo 2 online, and whenever I don't, it's because some guy(s) is there just to win, using cheap tactics.
Halo's universe and easy to get into gameplay is why people like it. It's relatively deep game and when compared to others games from the FPS genre, Halo is generally the easiest pick up and play. (and still have fun)
The main protagonist is a fucking G too. Master Chief is one of the coolest videogame characters out there.
Gears to me is more overrated than Halo. Rainbow Six Vegas imho is way better than Gears multiplayer with a fraction of the whiney 11 year olds. Coupled with way more matchtypes and nicer maps. A lot of people are put off from it though because its 'too realistic' gameplay and steep learning curve. SHOCKER, I KNOW.
I'm not a huge FPS fan, but I dig Halo for a number of reasons, including how well it follows the K.I.S.S. principle, the vehicles, and the story and universe. The surprise appearance of the flood in Halo is something I'll always remember, and just the idea of humongous-ass ring worlds is cool to me.
I prefer Halo to Gears when it comes to campaign, multiplayer, and setting.
Master Chief is black. That is according to Bungie, Microsoft, and all of those who were involved in the pre-production casting of the now on hold Halo movie. Last year, Denzel Washington was in heavy talks with Peter Jackson to be the Master Chief. Several news agencies picked up on this, and talks between camps was heating up seriously. Denzel even had face to face meetings with Jackson for the role and was making time on his schedule. Maybe the movie will some day get back in production.

none of these games are really system seller by themselves, but the ps3 lineup is looking prettier and prettier
THIS IS IT RIGHT HERE O YEA :D I'm sure Deejay will say I'm oogling but this is why I bought a PS3 right here. I was so hype for my modern day Yu-Gi-Ho game I hope it turns out good. I hear in Japan Card game arcades are very popular, so maybe this game will push some units there.Originally Posted by GRT
Ninja Gaiden Sigma Demo up on JP PSN story GO GET IT NOW!
I've played halo2, gears, and rainbow six vegas with my friend on his xbox360.
And Vegas I thought was the best of the 3.
Kinda wish multi-platform games like Vegas which are on both 360 and PS3 would have multi-platform multi-player.
I know thats not possible, but in a perfect world that would be cool, as neither are an exclusive, they won't be selling systems... and it would increase the fun factor and probably up sales as well.

Alright just got done messing around with the Ninja Gaiden demo and I must say the game is fun as hell. I never played the original one for Xbox so I've been dying to play this. My only minor complaint about the demo would have to be the camera angles sometimes get a little funky but it's nothing like Genji. Now I can't wait for the actual game to come out definitely a must buy for any PS3 owner.
I heard they would be releasing it on the US PS store later today along with a demo for Virtua Tennis 3.Originally Posted by Mysterio

Ninja Gaiden US demo is available along with a video and virtua tennis 3 demo
Wal-Mart denied rumors that it had placed a substantial order with a Taiwan supplier for ultra-cheap HD DVD players that could swing the format wars in that direction.
ADVERTISEMENT A spokesperson for the company said Thursday that reported leak concerning Taiwan-based consumer electronics manufacturer, Fuh Yuan, partnering with TDK in China to manufacture the $250-299 players, had no merit. The report first appeared in AVS Forums, and was picked up by other Web sites.
"The article… was full of inaccuracies and we had no participation in it," the spokesman said in an e-mail to PC Magazine. "Most of the facts, including the purchase, were untrue," she added. "Not sure how it originated."
When asked to comment specifically on a statement appearing on Fuh Yuan's site, which implies the retailer is at least interested in ordering the players, the spokesperson said she could not comment on or disclose Wal-Mart's internal business with suppliers and our orders. However, the supplier said that no deal was imminent.

Wal-Mart, the world's largest retailer, could play an important role in determining the success or failure of a particular format. So far, however, the company has at least publicly supported both camps.
On Thursday, the following statement appeared on Fuh Yuan's site:
"We are sorry to correct the statement that we have two million HD-DVD players order from Wal-Mart and manufactured by China Great Wall Group," Fuh Yuan said. "The actuality is that we had not received yet. We are asked to provide the schedule to Wal-Mart and cost to determine the quantity even more than two million, if the cost is good enough and timing is correct. So the capacity is under consideration. Any qualified manufactured base group will be welcome."
While Wal-Mart denied that any orders had been placed, the company did say that it plans to sell both Blu-ray and HD-DVD components in its stores and online, at least until a definitive winner in the format war is declared.
Currently, the retailer sells both HD-DVD and Blu-ray players, including Philips' $900 Blu-ray BDP900/37 player and Toshiba's $350 HD-D1 HD-DVD player.
"Today, we sell both Blu-ray and HD DVD in our stores nationwide (approx. 750 stores). As with all new technologies, we are committed to providing the best value on products that customers choose as most relevant to them. With new industry developments, we will make shifts in our selections as customer preferences evolve and they vote with their purchase," the company said in a statement.
The spokesperson added: "We expect that as prices decrease and new elements are added in the coming months that consumers will choose which format will dominate, and that could happen by the end of this year."
Just wondering, how many Halo fans actually play FPS like Q3 and UT on the PC before Halo?
Probably many, but Halo still feel different imo than those 2 game. It's a good mix of game like UT and more strategic shooter.Originally Posted by Syn
