That entire EGM cover story with Tretton was complete horseshit. At least the JP Sony people are from the place it is made and not just outwardly trained to feed bullshit to us. Is it just me or does Sony pretty much copy off everyone? Harddrive, Achievements and the guide button from 360, Mii and tilt motion whatever from Nintendo...

I mean, I guess it's kinda smart, but makes me feel like I've seen/done this all before. The only original thing I see about it is Blu-ray, which seems to have done them more damage than good... :roll

I am disappointed with Sony, I was expecting much much more from a fuckingPS3. It should have been like the Second Coming or something.

The only thing I heard about backwards compatibility is taking the PS2 chip out of the EU PS3s. Even if they did take it out of the new version of US PS2 (which is stupid anyway) I don't see why they would screw with the firmware of the current versions.

If that taking of the chip/backwards compatibility does actually come to pass (I'll believe it when I see it, because I find it so ridiculous), and they don't even drop the price because of it, then I might have to go back to lolPS3 for the rest of the year. That's one of the FEW qualities about the PS3 right now that I like and would be very annoyed to do without. In fact, it was the only thing that I would buy it for before FF13 or Versus (and I might not even buy it for that, depending on the flow of the game and price of the PS3 by then. Pretty, unplayable demos and pictures only go so far.) I don't even understand WHY they are doing it. There's gotta be other ways to cut costs that aren't nearly as devastating to a vast majority of the playerbase. Why cut off the huge and sucessful PS2 market when you are scrambling to erase/repair the stigma of a game library not worth the PS3's cost, and the lack of games and game variety is a huge reason most people don't like it/buy it now? It's absolutely mind-boggling.

Eh, i was never interested in Xbox(one) at all. Not a single game on it was something that came close to making me even consider it. But 360 is different. Initially it was an easy way to upgrade FFXI from PS2 (and wow what a difference XD) but there are few other games that get played on it...

To be honest, the most playtime my 360 has seen lately has been on:

Viva Pinata, and Winning Eleven 9 (for Xbox1) oh... and also whichever DVD my 3 year old daughter feels like watching...

But, hopefully some upcoming titles spark some more interest in me. Keeping my eye on:

My main issue... time. I just don't have time to add a PS3 to my consoles. Odd reasoning, but it is true. Between a handful of good PS2 titles, 360 titles, PSP titles (and old school PSX on PSP titles), Wii... GC... yeah. I have no time.

I am reading about it as I type...good fucking game Sony. Take one or two steps forward and then 5 steps back. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with them? Do their marketing execs and big decision makers snack on bags of paint chips? I've never wanted to kick someone I've never met (in person) in the nuts so bad before. Jesus Christ do you people even bother to read the news on the PS3? Yes they are taking out the 1 Chip and going to software. And PS2 compatibility MIGHT be hurting for a little bit. Sony isn't like Microsoft when it comes to backwards compatibility they actually do there job As for as Europe Launch Sony has stated that 1000 PS2 games will be working and more to added during future updates. Sony has done at least 1 thing right with the PS3 and thats keep the updates rolling in timely manners. I try to teach people about the PS3 and people stop reading 1/2 through then bitch, Jesus if your going to bitch at least bitch with something valid. If you don't believe me here is the link. Because there switching to software it allows for upscaling so I don't know what everyone crying especially considering it hasn't happened yet so you don't if its even bad at all.

What makes me really angry about it is that they should know better about crap like this. Whats there to be angry about? They reducing the cost of the system, a lot of companies find ways to reduce the cost of the system. What about the "Black 360" thats suppose to cost more and be built better then the normal 360, so they can reduce the amazing number of "Red Rings" but no one is bitching about that. All the people with shitty 360 will have to buy all new systems just so they wont have to swap out there console every 6 months.

Umm...I'm angry because they are slashing what should be one of their most important functions (backwards compatibity to what is arguably the most sucessful platorm of all time, sans the SNES), and treating it like the VC, or an accessory, while at the same time saying "lolprice drop".

At this point I'm gonna say "prove that you have learned to be less stupid" and ignore them until then.

And I just came back from GS, I pretty much sold about 25 games in total (wii, ps2, 360) and got rid of everything I know I wouldn't touch anymore.

Does anyone know if the PS3 version of Oblivion will have the knights guild already on the CD? Because I might get rid of my 360 version and just buy the PS3 if that's the case.

But yeah, right now all I got left for the 360 is Winning Eleven, SDvRAW07, GoW, Oblivion and the Halos... now I can just buy whatever is actually worth buying, instead of purchasing every random game that gets a decent score.

I did the same with the Wii, I got bored with Reyman and some other games...

It all depends on how you look at it, I have about 20 PS2 games and if they all work then fuck I'm happy and they get upscaled. I would be cheering them on, I suppose yes, I can see this as a bad thing depending on how bad the list maybe but right now we just don't know. But greater good can come from this so I'm look at it from that angle. They save $30 on a chip we all know they aren't going to automatically drop the price of the PS3 because they still losing money but cutting cost is the path you want to take for a price drop. But take it as you well, ill take my upscaled PS1 & PS2 games :D

Edit: Yes, if you find a 20 gig PS3 for sell let me know, cause I can't find one LOL60Gig

I wonder how good they can make PS2 games look though...even if they do upscale them to 720p, if they don't have Widescreen they will just look stupid. (FYI, FF12 can look fucking amazing if they do it right.)
