Considering how Microsoft didn't make any money during the entirety of the original Xbox's run, this news is not horribly surprising. But Microsoft will throw money at the gaming industry until they get some money out of it, I guess.

No.. they are going to throw money at it until they destroy all competition. Once they are the only game in town expect to feel the pain.

People that buy into Microsoft products are only fucking themselves in the end Feel free to ignore the last 20 years of history though.

We'll see. I just don't see it as a huge concern. I listen to a ton of podcasts, and read tons of gaming news. Not saying I am making any factual claims, but it is just my opinion.

The game will cost $300 and only YOU can play it, you won't be able to let your friends borrow it and God forbid you rent it at block buster.

If you and your friends want to play multi player with you they will all need to buy their own separate non-transferable client access licenses for $20 each per game per host. If you wanna play halo 6 at john, bob, and steve's house that will require $60 in CAL fees and those won't help you or transfer over when halo 7 comes out.

Wanna play over the Internet? LOL, that requires a difference license with difference pricing schemes depending on how big of a customer you are.

You can see complacency in EA now, they are such a huge monopoly, all there games suffer, when you drive competiton away and you solely own all rights, you dont care what you put out, you just want the $$$$$$$$$$$

As much as I liked playing Madden

Madden 2002 and Madden 2007 or 8 they all are the same, nothing is improved dramatically, it just little upgrade scrapes here and there

I got GameInformer and they had a good in depth article of the new VC All-Pro 2k8, the game looks like hella fun

Im sorry, I just want to play a football game that is fun, and not simulation to the 9th degree

Madden was so much f'n fun when there were hot routes and simplified gameplay, now just to make your WR catch, you have to hold down different buttons, face in a northwest direction, inhale, and exhale at point of catch for a completion

I like 2k8's new Any Given Sunday style/approach of play they are focusing on.
No NFL franchise teams, but teams that have a feel to them with some awesome stadiums and and no more grades for players, so you are in control.

As long as Microsoft is bringing the games I want, at prices I'm willing to pay, then I'll buy, and they can have my money. If they get out of line with pricing, or the games I want to play don't show up on Microsoft's system, then I'll let them know by not buying their shit anymore. That's the way this stuff works.

Maybe one day it'll come to be that fun and affordable games aren't made anymore, and that Microsoft is lording over a dark plane of existence where zombiefied neo-Americans enslave themselves to Tomb Raider v.5742zv machines. On that day, your post will ring completely true.

it is, i've been annoyed by MS since last generation Xbox how big a percentage of their library is FPS

i mean even the biggest RPG of the year is pretty much gonna be another FPS (without trying to go back to the whole "what's an RPG" arguement again >.>), where's the "American creativity and innovation" we are supposed to be proud about

edit: the Japanese are supposed to be the least creative people on earth compared to the westerners but the best at taking other people's product and improve upon it, but when it comes to gaming it's the total reversal
