Do you mean doing this thereby forcing people to buy computers with HD-DVD drives?

That is like Sony forcing people to get the PS3 with the BR, and obviously that is not turning out well for the PS3 market, only the Sony movies market.

MS's position from the beginning has been choice, so I really do not see that happening.

the in game graphics are actually sharper than that box art.

It's rather jaw dropping upon zooming in on Ryu.

Only qualm I have about the game is the camera, it's not fixated like in God of War which I'm used to. You control the camera in Sigma, and it's far too fucking hard to be on your toes defensively and have to play with the camera.

I have gotten to Master Murai on Very Hard difficulty, but beating him is asian territory, it's beyond my confining white man reflexes.

First sign that the PS3 version of GTA IV may be superior. This is because the PS3 has a bigger storage medium and a guaranteed hard drive on every system, and the 360 has neither of those.

All footage of the game so far has been running on the 360 though.

As this generation progresses this may be more of an issue for 360, because they can only afford to use regular DVDs, whereas the ps3 just has more room to provide stuff that the designers want.

Then again, it's extremely hard to make games for the ps3 from what I understand, so it might go both ways.

Is there any way 360 will release a future update that will allow their external HD-DVD to play HD-DVD games? Or is that not possible because of the nature of the player?

I'm sure Microsoft will come up with something to help out, but if not I guess it would become lol360 limitations (Cue Deejay) (like lolps2 limitations on FFXI even though I play it on Ps2 mainly )

The Blue Ray laser on PS3's are notorious for reading discs pretty slow. To counter this, part of games save some of it's information on your Hard drive. The difference with xbox is that the laser is always spinning and picking up information, meaning theres really no need to save data to the hard drive like the PS3 does. (not to mention its a lot faster than the HD-DVD and BluRay lasers.)

The type of DVD a game is stored on doesn't limit it's resolution or gameplay. It only limits the storage capacity. If a game like Gears of War can fit on a "tiny" DVD than the only games that could pose a problem for xbox would be GTA. However, Saints Row and Elder Scrolls look great on 360 and are extremely "big" games. As long as Gears of War remains the defacto standard for this era (graphics wise) I dont really think you can ever put an 'lol360 limitations' on xbox.

I just don't see how a game can really look much better than Gears of War this generation, its visuals are so amazing. The most I think you can expect are to have higher fps, more enemies at once, smarter (and by smarter I mean less dumb) AI, etc. Graphically I don't really think the systems are going to go much further, so I guess the processing power etc can start being used for other parts of the game. I don't really think the 360 has limitations because its main shortfall is storage, but even then, its not a huge deal to ship a game w/ 2 dvds if needed.

I never noticed bad loading times for Oblivion on the 360, nothing to the point of making a comment about.

I know that Nintendo is prone to delays, but the Wii should have a fairly strong first-party lineup this year, on top of whatever 3rd party developers churn out. The bold games are the ones I know will be AAA titles w/o actually having them reviewed/played, while the rest I don't really know about. Wii Music and Wii Health Pack are two games targeting the 'non-gaming' crowd, so I'm sure they'll both sell really well as well, though most people on these forums won't care about them.

But speaking with the Japanese press, Nintendo's president said that such rumors were unfounded.

All thats left to the imagination is a picture of Reggie patting Kutaragi on the back with a smile, whispering "good job w/ the ps3" followed by some kind of cynical laugh.

You obviously haven't played Oblivion to that point then... if you do most of the things in the game, it will start happening very frequently.

Also, I understand that the first true Wii Zelda game is deep into production... any approximated release date yet, or is Nintendo still keeping quiet about it?

At this point its all rumors, but I wouldnt be surpised to see that.

Anything at all about the new Zelda game besides the fact that they are working on it is rumor. Apparently they have been working on it for some time (as in, before this time last year), but Nintendo hasn't released a single screenshot, no information about a story or gameplay or a release date, so I'm guessing it won't be before late '08/early '09. I wouldn't worry about it until Nintendo releases some real info on it. I've been waiting on all the different FF13 title information myself, but it's been dry lately...
