I think I may buy my fiance a Wii for her birthday. She has been talking about it, and I really want to get her into video games so she gets off of my case about playing so much.

What are some good games? She likes stuff like Tennis and Volleyball. Is Tennis included in Wii sports or can I find a better tennis game out there for her?

Wii sports is good enough for majority of the casual gamers buying into Nintendo's plan, it'll probably do the trick for your girl.

Wii Sports and Mario Party might keep her occupied for a while. If you want her to think shes playing a more "serious" game then get her Trauma Centre. (lol) I hate to admit it but you guys are right, the Wii is kind of a joke when it comes to having titles that cater to veteran gamers.

So is Wii a gimmick she (or me) will get tired of (I realize this is an impossible question to answer, but is it dying out already)? I can't really justify spending hundreds of dollars if the thing is just going to collect dust after the initial fun wears off.

Personally for me the Wii was a gimmick/fad that wore off for me quicker then I expected. I play my Xbox360 soooo much more then anything else right now due to the games that are out for it and the fact that Assassin's Creed will be out for it very soon(Aug/Sept). The 360 even made FFXI take the back seat. That's just my personal opinion.

Plus if you have a 360 Premium, you can download the 1080P update and play at 1080p which looks so nasty if you have the TV to support it.

The Wii is not a fad, period. Norelco, I do not think you will get bored. Super Paper Mario and Zelda are both great core gamer games, that should take you a month or two to get through, dependent on how often you play games.
The VC is also cool, there is now over 100 games on there, probably 60-75% are great games worth purchasing.

Also don't forget it also doubles as a Gamecube. People discount the gamecube for really reasons I don't understand (better than the Xbox 1 imo). If you never owned a Gamecube there are a great amount of games for the hardcore gamer for that system, regardless of what genre you like.

I love my Wii and enjoy it every time I play it, and I will be turning 25 this year. I'm more worried about keeping my fiance interested than me. I already know I'll probably be playing golf and Zelda. I think she is intrigued by the fact that the Wii is so interactive and she's not the type of girl who can sit still for very long, so if she can burn off some energy while having fun I think it will be a good option. She is a huge fan of Tennis so I'm excited in getting it for that.

Well Wii Sports Tennis is the best of the 4 sports in the package, so I am sure she will love it. If she is a non-gamer she will love the Wii. The game Wii Play is also very fun, especially for someone like her. It is also only 10 dollars, since it comes with a Wiimote, and the total package is $50.

Both those games available too btw. Also Bonk's Revenge was recently added. Splatterhouse is also on there.
