Khimaira debuff problems

OP, this is the standard toau HNM experience for brd. I'm not sure if hydra is susceptible to elegy at all, but no matter how good your gear or merits is you will not be able to stick it reliably to cerb or khim without elemental seal. I did 4/4 singing/wind merits, AF+1 hands, AF+1 legs, AF2 head, wind torque, singing/musical ears, etc, and still it took a while to get elegy on. Once it's there it will stick for a good while luckily. If you have a lot of people bring brd/blm(s) for troub+ES, if not go brd/whm and just keep at it. Just watch your hate, it will pile up eventually if you aren't careful, especially if you are the only bard there.

I think its better to just save skill merits for other mage jobs, and use Ele seal if you really want to land it. 8) Good thing about bard is that if you get resisted, you don't lose MP like a RDM does when they do. So with a couple brds spamming elegy with good recast gear (sheikh gages<3 ), it will usually be on pretty quick. And if you can't last that long w/o elegy on, then just have a brd or two sub blm 8)

Yes; ; when I invested those merits I was under the strong impression I would never take another job seriously, but RDM has swept me off my feet. To be honest I never saw a huge difference to my debuff resists from *any* kind of change I made to my gear beyond dumb stuff like using wind 100% of the time. I kept the merits in hope that with as much skill gear as I could pile on I could squeeze *one* more attack out of min4, but having gotten and tested af+1 legs finally I still just cant do it :'( 8/8 enfeebling here I come~.

:O Talked my LS into it since I got both BRD JA's capped off. I'll be going /BLM from now on for most HNMs now.

For rdm: It's best to swap around gear and find out which works best. A good balance of skill (315ish)and mnd (115ish) works best. Those numbers might be off a bit though. Last Khimaira I had about 2/3 slow lands and 1/3 para. Not the best, but you really don't need ES to land shit.
