Let me put it this way. RDM/NIN can easily hold hate off of Invincible.

RDM/NIN can hold hate from anything and anyone. Invincible was rendered useless on my test on colibris, then when I did it on Jailer of Hope, I pulled hate off my entire allience of blms and rngs, and a nin/drk and a pld/nin.

You reach a point of nirvana so to speak, so long as you don't take any dmg, the monster doesn't care about anyone but you.

Thats pretty hot. Very interesting. So i assume it soley relies on you not taking dmg though right?

My Rdm is sorta "retired" now, and i had only brought it out of retirement to get fast merits, i do tend to spam spells like slow, para, and cure spells, though admitidly i dont spam sleep. And i dont pull hatethat often. But what is the general strat for holding the hate?

My Rdm is sorta "retired" now, and i had only brought it out of retirement to get fast merits, i do tend to spam spells like slow, para, and cure spells, though admitidly i dont spam sleep. And i dont pull hatethat often. But what is the general strat for holding the hate?

The idea is that between Fast Cast and Refresh, Ballad, and possibly even a Corsair roll, you'll be able to spam many spells very fast and over a long period of time. Dispel, for example, is like 25 MP and only takes 3 seconds to cast (probably 1.5 seconds with Fast Cast III). Recast time is 10 seconds. Sleep II and Gravity are similar. Dispel > Sleep II > Gravity and now your dispel timer is probably up again. You can keep repeating this cycle. You also have Phalanx to reduce damage taken to yourself, as well as an innate Magic Defense Bonus to reduce damage. It does rely on taking little damage, but given the speed at which you can build hate by spamming these spells, even if you do take damage (which is bound to happen in a long fight), you can easily get it back by spamming just a few more spells.

Grav is junk for hate, Sleep 2 and dispel are good though, Blind and Bind are also strong. I usually just go Dispel > Blind > Bind , repeat those, if I wanna use sleep i'll add it into the cycle. Btw if you wanna lock hate right solidly right at the start, chainspell sleep2 works wonders, however if you're meant to co-tank with someone else, it's not so great.

If a NIN/DRK can't pull hate off of two RDM/NIN cotanks, what on earth makes you think a BLM is going to be able to without spamming Stun at every opportunity?

Where did I say a blm WOULD pull hate??? ofcourse non MB blms would be hard pressed to pull hate from a tank on Wyrms, i doubt the are breaking 1.5k dmg at every nuke

NOW... everything after that was up to discussion. I said over and over "i think" "my experiences" and then ASKED how is it done. Not once did i try to pass something off as fact regarding rdm. And two people managed to come in and say "rdm can tank fine ive seen/done xyz, you look like you ahve rdm, you should give it a try" and i politely repleid with "wow thats pretty nice, i should try it sometime".
