Because you are looking at it, as a "one line" context, when i meant it as the overall theme of the entire post about how they are changing their approaches to mimic the western devs who have bigger markets now. which is why i put "indication of this are the new number of japanese companies who are now licensing the "Unreal engine" to develop games (middleware being a more western develoment pratice)"
I was saying that the fact that they are even using middleware after DECADES of shunning it, trying to make more western friendly content, and get more involved in the western game communities, AND mimic Western methods on development, is an indication of them trying to change their approach in game development, and have a more "western/global" stance. They are looking at the Western Devs, and analyzing what they are doing to succeed, which is WHY they want to adopt the design model of western devs which INCLUDES making games for the global market, AND using middleware to save money.
Im sorry if i worded that line in a manner that confused you. i know looking at that one line then they ae not the complete same thing. I was thinking of the entire post when i wrote it. But Lost planet was created by trying to adopt western ideals in game design. And the Middleware came into play once again because they were trying to adopt western ideals for game design. That was the point i was trying to make.
I wasnt saying "the only reason they are using the unreal engine is because they want to MAKE a game FOR the west" thus implying they cant make western games without it.
