Saw this on Alla; apparently SE is holding some event thing for the premier sites next month. Wonder what they'll be presenting?
I figured this would do well on this board... >_>;

Was mentioned here
but I suppose it kind of needs it's own thread
Wonder what they'll discuss~![]()
Wonder how long before BG will be one of their "premier" sites.
Highly doubt it since we all use windower and the such and that's against ToS. Plus, if I understand it right we're not well received by the general community. Bunch of elitist bastards, we are.
Unless they go through with their own windower and it's comparable to the current one.
(i.e. TParty, massive macros, distance)
Something tells me the offical one won't do![]()
If that's the case, there will probably just be a resurgence in the use of programs like FFassist.Originally Posted by Rocl

They would probably o TParty and the macros but distance seems too much like a "hack" (not calling you a hacker for using it, because I do too), if you get what I'm saying. But then again it's not an unfair advantage if everyone can use it.Originally Posted by Rocl
Yes Allakhazam (a company in itself) was bought by the same company that owns IGE.Originally Posted by fantasticdan

Because there's a lot of gil to be bought if you want to acquire the best gear so you can level to 75!Originally Posted by Ksandra

Would be interesting if SE takes suggestions at the event, and the Allakhazam representative proposes endgame "solutions" with the ulterior motive of making things easier for RMT.
Eh, it's Pikko going for the ZAM people.
She's pre-buyout and good peoples. Likewise, they got folks from FFXIClopedia, etc. going as well. If there's bullshit, the other people there are going to smell it before it gets dumped in S-E's lap with a pretty bow and a label saying "endgame solution".
Doesn't she talk like a Pokemon character?Originally Posted by Kyreth

Heaven help us if someone actually posts in Taru-cutespeak when their website (nice for gardening stuff, BTW) is all about a Tarutaru gardener.Originally Posted by Popsiclestick

Last time I was on that site, it wasn't Taru language. Well, maybe it was Taru mixed with some Engrish-like thing. But then again, it's been a while.
I feel quite comfortable with BG's position as a non-premier site. If they did make this a premier site, I would fear the restrictions that BG would have to go under to stay as one. I also would hate the flood of amateurs that could stray in here from POL's site to this one b/c BG would be premier.
Id like to think we have a close enough relationship with SE without having to be a premier site. (Hopefully, with the new SE/communication section, SE will come to us more directly for help in the development of the game)
Well, we know at least one or more GMs read BG. We can't say whether any of the developers or PR reps read BG, since there's never been any implication or confirmation of such as there had been with GMs.Originally Posted by Tekki
However, even if it doesn't seem like it with many of the updates, SE in some form or another is aware of BG's existence. At the very least, they've been told about it and I'm sure some curious dev has taken a peek at least once or twice even if they don't read it regularly. Or they do read it regularly and funnel it through Babelfish English->Japanese translator and are getting all their ideas from the resulting output that misses all original intent.
Either way, not being a Premiere Site doesn't mean BG has no value to SE. It just means we aren't being "showcased". And in that respect, its nice because it means BG works loosely on a referral basis rather than being openly advertised to the public. Also keep in mind the strain the server goes under during updates when everybody who has ever seen or heard about BG signs on at once. Imagine the server strain if BG was openly advertised as a Premiere Site on the POL site. The server (and poor Sonomaa) would have a heart attack.
