Premier site event next month

Saw this on Alla; apparently SE is holding some event thing for the premier sites next month. Wonder what they'll be presenting?

They would probably o TParty and the macros but distance seems too much like a "hack" (not calling you a hacker for using it, because I do too), if you get what I'm saying. But then again it's not an unfair advantage if everyone can use it.

I feel quite comfortable with BG's position as a non-premier site. If they did make this a premier site, I would fear the restrictions that BG would have to go under to stay as one. I also would hate the flood of amateurs that could stray in here from POL's site to this one b/c BG would be premier.

Id like to think we have a close enough relationship with SE without having to be a premier site. (Hopefully, with the new SE/communication section, SE will come to us more directly for help in the development of the game)

Well, we know at least one or more GMs read BG. We can't say whether any of the developers or PR reps read BG, since there's never been any implication or confirmation of such as there had been with GMs.

However, even if it doesn't seem like it with many of the updates, SE in some form or another is aware of BG's existence. At the very least, they've been told about it and I'm sure some curious dev has taken a peek at least once or twice even if they don't read it regularly. Or they do read it regularly and funnel it through Babelfish English->Japanese translator and are getting all their ideas from the resulting output that misses all original intent.

Either way, not being a Premiere Site doesn't mean BG has no value to SE. It just means we aren't being "showcased". And in that respect, its nice because it means BG works loosely on a referral basis rather than being openly advertised to the public. Also keep in mind the strain the server goes under during updates when everybody who has ever seen or heard about BG signs on at once. Imagine the server strain if BG was openly advertised as a Premiere Site on the POL site. The server (and poor Sonomaa) would have a heart attack.
