I mean, think about it. Say you're me (oh the horror, I know, but just bear with me a few seconds), a nerdy girl. So, I spend most of my time on the computer or watching TV and don't go out all that often to parties and stuff like that because I am said nerdy girl.
Well, the nerdy guys are also at home most of the time online...How are we supposed to meet?? The only thing I can think of is like Myspace or Facebook.
Picture it this way, too.
I'm a geeky guy. I don't mind being around other people, or going to social events. However, even if I were to be at the same party as you, I'm not entirely sure I'd talk to you. Or many other people for that matter. There's a lot of reasons for this, several of which are under my control, but it could be adequately summed up as me being a complete wuss. So, I end up largely unnoticed. Part of me is okay with this -- it's the path of least resistance -- and most of me is frustrated.
It's rare for me to even see a girl anywhere close to my age (I know why this is, but it's not relevant), so I can't really pose the same question to myself, but, how many geeky guys do you think you walk by daily? Chances are, you're not looking for a completely passive person, and it'd be a fair bet that most geeks are, so the greater majority of geeks simply aren't seen by you.
