What type of anime is this?

I laughed a lot when I watched it but I don't know that I'd classify it as a comedy per say. Awesomeness would be the only fitting classification... ya okay but seriously, it's good.

I'm not very good at trying to find particular animes :[ The above weren't omg awesome I want to tell everyone about it, but they weren't bad if you're bored.

Great Teacher Onizuka and Kimi Ga Nozomu Ein are probably my two favorite anime ever if you haven't seen those.

Crest of the Stars, sequel Banner of the Stars(II), Rozen Maiden, PlanetES, Major, and Touch are some of the ones I've really liked personally.

Anyone know any good animes that are worth watching that arent the mainstream ones(ie naruto, death note, bleach etc.) some of the ones that dont get alot of spotlight. Some of the anime I've watched recently is Blood+, peace maker kurogane, and shingetsutan tsukihime(I like vampires lol).

Any suggestions would be awesome, just need something to watch to suck up time while sitting around at home.

Baiscally its about a kid trying to kill a person that uses machines to steal human souls.. and these machines basically eat people.

Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou (its new so not much detail yet from my point of view)
Baisclaly from what I seen its... a group of high school students that found they have a new power, and they want to use it to combat some "group". This group "enpowers" vengeful people/things with a demonic power, and in order for them to keep that power they must eat humans.

Tokko
Series about a world of demons slowly taking over the world (eating people etc), and a group of people "enpowered" by renegade demons fight back to "seal" the bad demons.

Kousetsu Hyaku Monogatari aka 1001 horror stories (or supposed to mean)
Short stories about a story writer that writes/witnesses horrific stuff and writes about them as it happens.

Utawarerumono
Basically about a person that at one point seemingly forgot his past works his way up to "better the world" only to find out later he himself is actually a "god/experiment" made from past humans that destroyed the world once.

Fate Stay Night is good, go watch!

Other then that I can't think of animes that soorta are close to "vampire/monster soorta related stuff" at moment O_o

it's pretty new, not sure if any fansub has worked on it yet, but if anyone can understand japanese you can probably get the raw easily

A lot of the recent good ones have been listed, so I guess I'll just throw this one series out as a suggetion: Noen.

Noen is pretty cool if you like sci fi. Based on quantum physics, it takes place in multiple parallel universes, sorta like the concept behind Sliders.

Macross zero had awesome animation, and I supose an okay story. Only 6 episodes tho, felt more like a movie than anime series.

I'm sure I forgot a ton of good anime, but those are imo the best. Bleach, Dragon ball (manga only), Naruto aren't that bad either. They might not be the best anime, but they will usually get you a couple of laugh/smile each episode. You could try Gundam seed too if you never did (series was ok).

Puni Puni Poemi

After watching Excel Saga, I was expecting a lot more from this one. There was a few good joke, but it wasn't really funny. Best part were the one with Nabeshin

If you like Gundam Seed, try out Code Geass. It's really good so far.

My god, I was forced to sit through like 2 episodes of that shit, it made me feel like smashing stuff. Really recommend against it unless you like that kind of stuff. (It's like, a school of delinquents doing stupid things)

Death Note (I know you said no) for a thinker/suspense

I dont think there have been any good comedies lately.. oh, Welcome to the NHK! is a good slice of life / comedy.
