Equipment which have Latent effects that are only active in Assault, are in fact active during The Ashu Talif quests.

And equipment whose effects are only active outside of regions where your nation is dominant don't work in Aht Urghan. Is Square-Enix even aware that Assault gear works in the Ashu Talif? They may have forgotten to set ASSAULT=0 or something.

Items that work outside of national control only work if you have signet on, and signet does not function in Aht Urgan, just as Sanction regen/refresh does not function in Aery.

So if Sorrowful Sage is the NPC for Nystul tags after all, why does he have such an interesting name? Sounds like maybe he and other 'sages' created chimeras of NMs and they either escaped or were placed in Nystul Isle. Can't wait for the storyline update!

He's a galka, his name is (adjective) (noun, typically nature oriented). Most likely, "Sage" here is referring to the plant, not the job or the guy who doesn't know.

They already added it a long time ago. Unless you mean make it available from Nyzul assault, too.

I wonder what options will be available from the Assault NPC when you use your tag. Normally, you view mission list and select your assault, but in this case there is only assault to select. There are also no other options than "View Mission List", since there's no AP and therefore no points to spend and no "Spend Assault Points" option.

So I anticipate that the Galka NPC is just going to stand there, you talk to him and a menu will pop up with the only options being "View Mission List" and "Nevermind". Select "View Mission List" and it will list "Nyzul Isle Assault" or "Nevermind". Select the assault and he'll take your tag and give you "Nyzul Isle Assault Orders" which you then take to the runic portal, get your armband, and enter at the Rune of Transfer.

that's the assault breastplate, the adaman one has physical damage-10% on it in the DAT files i think, i thought the same too at first

Well, they need to switch it so that the Assault Breastplate comes from Assault.

Where does it say there's only 1 mission for the whole area? While it does seem possible, especially since it doesn't say you record the floor for one particular mission, I'm still not sure. Worth discussing? You decide.

Fun Fact: Nyzul Isle's fireflies (Undersea Ruins fireflies) have been in the .dats since ToAU was released and have the same description as the original 5 Assault area fireflies + Cutter fireflies (also added in April according to Somepage). It's interesting to note that Remnants fireflies were added in December, suggesting that perhaps Salvage wasn't part of the original ToAU plan. (Or was "new multiplayer battefields" included in December in that "ToAU plan" thingy?)

I can say with full honestly that anyone expecting a D. Ring, Ridill, or something of the like is bound to get a reality kick in the balls when the update actually appears.

I am expecting/hoping for Salvage gear from this, or something similar, maybe even new (though not just since they JUSt released the Salvage gear and almost no one has anything from it), MAYBE Abjs or something along those lines. Something for all jobs to go after, not a few nice things for just a few jobs. Why complain so much about no progession and then hope for the exact same dusty crap? Aim your sights a little higher, it has the same probability of happening anyway.

The fact that SE is releasing this new Assault so close to the release of Salvage makes me think that there's a good chance that old gear will drop from the new Assaults. It would be weird if SE added Salvage and then added addition new gear that is equal or better to Salvage gear so soon.

but do you really think they're going to put out something that would output more than salvage... with less effort....... not long after salvage has been available?

that would effectively mean they wasted their time even *developing* salvage.

some of you are such dreamers, not to rain on your parade. but, i hope, that it is fun, exciting, offers new challenges, and can actually drop some good, COMPARABLE gear (not the same old shit that drops from everything else).
