With switching soon being an option, I now have to ask -on a somewhat related note- Is there any truth to the rumor that we can now restore deleted characters more than once per account and from up to 12 months ago?

I've started fresh since I quit/restored/quit back in July, but I wouldn't mind recovering all that lost progress and bringing it to my current server before It's too late. <_<

Transferring characters between servers is utterly stupid and could break a game. It's like traveling between universes. Since players need other players to make money, level up, ect ect, it is self-contained. You throw in other servers, and it has the potential to all go to hell. We've seen the effects of server migrations onto live servers. Imagine that happening constantly, on all servers.

Just no. Not needed.

As for the update. Uh, cool, I guess world passes are a little outdated. I don't like the fact they delayed the chocobo racing. It's funny people seem to think only Zam would care. The average Zam poster probably thinks about the same things the same BG poster does, its just that the probability of that Zam poster being retarded is higher.

Nope, friend of mine deleted his character for the second time in December, and they told him he wouldn't get it back.

As for the server migration, Im sure it'll please all the assholes, ninja lotters, and more, as well as SE if they do it like Blizzard, i.e. charging $25. Hopefully they'll do it properly.

Seriously, the past system was horrible. It was slightly difficult to use without an explaination. When I gave him the world pass, I didn't explain that he had to enter the server name first prior to using the code, prompting an early morning call :3

Anyone remember BG pre WoW? When this topic came about originally almost 2 years ago, I remember posts about people possibly applying to BG from other servers in preparation of this "World Transfers" that SE announced, and it just turned out to be just the last exodus of people to the newer servers...I almost forgot about it, and thinking back on it, we all should probably not start to make plans to leave our current servers (or hoping that your notorious idiots of your server leave) until is confirmed that you as a player will have control as to which server you can move to/if you can at all.

If they ristrict world movement for characters on a time based period, and add suggested Servers for Timezones, for example set up comments for servers that should have more EU Time based people etc. this could be win win win.

In the other hand if they make it wrong you can see serverwide HNM LS bitching drama comeing, compared to the server exclusiv one.

My random guess is that you will only be allowed to switch once, it may or may not be random which server you go to, and you will be allowed to transfer ZERO gil.

idk if i could ever leave fairy... i still remember when i first logged on and recieved <<< Welcome to Fairy! >>> and thought "great, i got put on the gay server"..... since then though, its sorta grown on me through the years ;3
o ya and most of the people here are awesome ;o


i hope SE jus means it'll be a one time thing like they did before (except this time it would sound like you can choose the server to go to), and not something people can do regularly (or have to wait a long time before switching again, like 6months or so)

Think about it, do you really want servers like remora leaking out into every other server? The game's community will turn into WoW, people looking for loot then jumping ship.

Anyway, when I suggested that on GC 2005 and GC 2006 we were talking about 1time or maximum 2 time switching possible ever.... now it looks like you will be able to switch a few times..... WTF!!!!!!!!!!
