Anyone wishing to Restore previously restored characters!

OKAY correct forum this time... I think ;>.>

Talked to a GM in game today about restoring a character on an account that had allready recieved a restoration and he/she very subtly commented on a way to get the process started. I was so excited to call SE and confirm this buy a representative that I forgot to Screenshot it but ill let you guys in on the jist of what I was told.

All character restorations are done in japan the NA reps just handle processing the request to start a restoration. Normally you can only have this done once but I deleted my character for a second time awhile back in hopes of quitting because of my job and now that my job has been changed I came back and remade a character anywho with that shit. Plain and simple the guy told me that SE has made exceptions quite a few times to people wishing to restore previously restored characters during their "Return to Vanadiel" Promotion held in early summer. When he said that I asked if it would be held again this year and he said its been done for the past few years no reason it wouldnt this year. To hear this after thinking my toon was gone forever was like an EPIC!!! dream come true I cant wait to get back behind the screen of my 75 BLM 75 SMN that i lost so long ago(13 months) woot!!

They'll do the restore process as many times as you call them... they either changed that once per account rule or don't enforce it. Anyways they couldn't get my account back after the second deletion, but they submitted a few requests on my behalf. I know a couple people who have successfully gotten theirs back after multiple deletes, so you might as well just try and call POL now and ask for a restore, it might work.

I may try again if they do the return to VD program but I doubt that really matters.

I just restored my two characters, talked to a GM through POL. He said I should get them back within a week. I can't wait to get back to FFXI :D

I tried to get mine restored about 11 months ago and they said since it had allready been done once it couldnt be done again,....maybe they're becoming more lenient on this matter in hopes that people who did delete their character in hopes of quitting come back. Never know I guess its not as epic as what id hoped since you all are saying its possible now im going to try it tomorrow and see what happens.

I know for a fact, a friend of mine deleted his character once, got it back, and deleted it a second time around November 2006. He then called SE, and a woman told him he would get it back. But after 2 weeks of nothing, he called SE back, and someone else told him he wouldn't get it back.

YEAH thats what happened to me the first time i tried to restore it the 2nd time some douche told me look for it to be back within 2 weeks. The 2nd time I called(a month later) they said they would submit the request again then he said let me just look at your account for a sec then "oh im sorry it seems youve had this character restored once before" Then he explained to me how some of their "Agents" dont look to see if its been done before before they submit a request because I guess they have made exceptions on accounts before. That was right before he told me about doing it during the "Return home to Vanadiel" Promotion. Either way the JAPs handle everything the americans are just the middlemen... so youre at the mercy of SE JP.

There's someone on Hades that's quit 6 times, twice he's deleted his character but he's still playing, or so he says.

I had my charecter deleted some time ago and when I asked to have it back, they sent me an automated message that for these lists of reasons it wouldn't be back. The only reason I can think of, I got the name server ect right, would be that I didn't get the right time frame. Do you have to be specific about that or is there another reason.

We were unable to restore the character in question for one or all of the following reasons:

-The requested character never existed.
→Please check the Character name, World name, and Deletion Date.
-Expiration of retention period since the character was first deleted.
→Please confirm the date and time of character deletion.
-The character requested did not exist on the Contents ID.
→If the character did not actually exist on the contents ID in question, we are unable to provide restoration services.

I deleted about 8-9 months ago and I got that same email above every single time I applied for restoration. I put in 7 applications before I just gave up(over the course of a month and half about.) This was also within the last 2 months so it was a fairly recent trial.

I did talk with the POL rep asking what my other options were and he told me to try for the Return of Vanadiel event that they have yearly. He mentioned that there's two databases, one that's used for everyday restorals when you call POL(short term, maybe less than 3-4 months of being deleted?) and another that's only used for the Return of Vanadiel campaign(maybe long term?)

Anyway don't know if there's any truth to that as I don't know if the POL rep was just making up crap to get the call done.
