In fact, I've been in parties with two DRK/SAMs amongst other typical TPburn melees (MNK/NINs or WAR/NINs) in which both DRK/SAMs were able to use Souleater literally every time it was open and leave it up the entire time without gimping the MP or the EXP/hour. We were still making between 16k and 20k an hour (this is at the Colibri camp, and the Mamool camp above it). Not only that, but using Souleater often (and especially in conjunction with Last Resort for the extra 15% weapon haste) enables me to bring myself from a level that falls below par up to parsing higher than pretty much any non-Ridill WAR (Out of the 6 WARs I've parsed with recently only 1 of them has parsed higher, and the one in question is one of the best geared WARs on the server, only missing Ridill).
All you need are some skilled healers drinking wizards drinks and giant drinks so as to get an extra 1k mp from convert, or chugging mulsum.
Bullshit. 2 darks with souleater up for 1 minute out of every 5, who arent missing most of their attacks, will drain any healers MP. If you are DRK/SAM more often than not your "protection" wont last more than 1/4 of that time, if that, and DRK/NIN will spend half of SE trying to cast Utsusemi.
Personally when I have a Dark Sponge in a merit party who likes to leave on SE, I just let their HP get low enough that they dont lose so much in the add effect, and cure them after it wears. Spam curing to keep them high throughout SE is an absolute MP killer, and I have a 1.1k convert setup.
As for the signet changes.. Im not sure why everyone thinks they are so good for BST personally... if you are resting for XP often enough that saving TP through resting would actually be useful, chances are your XP is sucking anyway.. typically BST cant use TP until the end of the fight, and due to that you are almost never lacking in TP anyway.
