Didn't Ryko or someone' sig from a while back say "I don't mean to derail threads, it just sort of happens".
I think it's like that.

They sound fucking awesome. I'd be their slave. Athens had it coming, those democractic sissies.Originally Posted by BRP
On a serious note, I heard the most inaccurate thing is that the movie doesn't do a very good job of explaining that theres an alliance between the Greeks and that it isn't just Sparta trying to hold the line. Like, it was Sparta along with others holding the line on the land, while Athens etc. were trying to control the sea?
Spartans were bred for military service from birth. The women were just as physically hardy as the men were. Also, it has to be nice to know you are at your peak physically as a warrior.
What's the better tagline?
Spartans - the original elitist pricks!
OR
Spartans - we're better than you, and we know it!
I'm definitely going to see this movie.
DBZ showed me that no matter how insanely powerful you become, you can always take it up to the next level within a few episodes if you have to.Originally Posted by Talus

FUCKING RIMJOB I WORK ON FRIDAY & SATURDAY!!!!!
Maybe I'll get my foot run over by a truck on Friday.
If there is anything the Spartans did right, it was keeping their populas(sp?) in shape and battle ready, even the women.Originally Posted by Talus

Just got back from watching 300. I must say it's worth every cent that I've paid for this movie.
I loved the scene on how they introduced the spartan king as a little boy and the entrance of the persian messenger. The battle scene can be said to be very well done except for a few matrix moments which seems redundant. The chopping of heads were corny though. The whole head flying up and such. The blood splattering seemed to be wierdly done. Why do people splatter more blood when they're speared instead of getting your heads chopped off.
Anyway great movie. Oh btw there's free boobies shot! :D

well, the decapitations were in slow mo =p the blood still hasn't pumped out of the head yet i guessOriginally Posted by Miltani
The most noticeable thing I took away from the fight scenes on the previews was that spartan that tries to jump stab a Persian. All I could think to myself was, wow, could you really not have come up with something yourself? Did you really have to copy Troy?
300 is just perfecting where Troy fails....which is every part of the movie.Originally Posted by Swampthing

damn."Real Spartans were pretty hard core," he said. "It's like the way Spartans raise their children. They do crazy stuff — they beat on them, they make them fight. If they're not perfect, then they chuck them off cliffs. They're pretty hard core."
