    Older Games

OK soooo, I just figured out my really old comp can play Halo... What are some good games with similar specs? Yes I know I should get a new comp, I'm getting one when I graduate (building :DDDD). I am also aware that this pops up every week, but all those involve games with Doom 1 graphics.

    I have:
    Grim Fandango
    Rollercoaster Tycoon 2
    Half-Life
    Black and White
    Starcraft
    Command and Conquer: Red Alert
    The Sims
    Deus Ex
    Counter-Strike 1.6
    Halo
    MechWarrior 3
    Prince of Persia 3D
    Carmageddon
    Quake 1 & 2
    Doom 2

A lot are borrowed, some are mine. I don't really like RTS (except B&W), the RTS I listed are borrowed, was just trying them out :/. FPS and Racing I like and even though Carmageddon looks horrible, its fucking fun. halp plurs!

Well, I know that is said a lot, but unfortunately... I don't really enjoy Starcraft . I want to, I played it for about 2hrs the other night, I just don't get what the point is. I get thrown into some situation without a real explanation. Its not fast paced enough for me either, guiding my little team really slowly through places is to boring. ><

CS has the highest potential to piss you off and leave something in your room broken imo. but still it's one of, if not the best fps you can play right now.

so if fps is what you want, you can't beat CS.

It's a bit older than what you have listed, but get yourself an SNES emulator and a copy of Super Mario RPG.

Seriously, if you're bored with everything else, this game will pick things up for you real easy.

Of all the CS games, which is the best to for on-line play? Source, Condition Zero or the original (Which I assume is 1.6).

Condition Zero really isn't for multi-player. It's really just a series of single player missions where you play a map vs. a certain number of bots and you have certain conditions you must meet in order to "pass" the map. It is good practice, because of the various passing conditions, e.g. "Kill 3 players with the scout," and "Win a round in less than 30 seconds." It's not bad, I bought it when it came out and I enjoyed it.

But if you want the best multi-player experience of all the CS games then Source is your choice, if your computer can handle it. For example, my tower runs 1.6 at 99fps, but it only runs Source at 10~fps. Source is 10 times more resource heavy, but once you're in game for the first minute you will see why, its also 10 times more visually stunning.

1.6 is a solid game if your computer can't run Source, but Source is the best.

I never played any CS game so had no idea. When I started FFXI, I tossed myself in a hole and forgot any other game exsisted. Looking at the reqs, I meet the recommened for sorce, so should be ok, going to have to pick it up soonish and try it. Have always wanted to play a good online shooter, since I love them on systems (Go go timesplitters multiplayer)

    ahh hehe

Well, I will give you fair warning then. Never join a server that comes up in the list where you ping over 50, in fact set the filters to only show servers with <50 ping. And if you join a server where its painfully obvious after a few rounds that the teams are stacked to hell, meaning all the skilled players are on the same team, save yourself the aggravation and pick a new server, because there are plenty of servers where you can have a good time with people at your skill level, you may just have to spend a few minutes finding one

Good luck, hope you enjoy the game. I actually just re-downloaded it myself last night XD
